I agree Chavez was a little underutilized but expect we’ll get more from her later. She was a plot device that we got just enough from to push the story this time around. Ironically if she was a more central co-star, people would complain it detracted from Strange and Wanda
Hard disagree on everything else. This is Strange and Wanda’s movie and they both shined.
For Strange, ours seems the best version comparatively in the multiverse. He tries for “the greater good” and sometimes goes to great (albeit questionable) lengths like others, but ultimately never turns to barbaric evil they do. Xavier even comments on how he thinks this Strange is different. The contrast in how he treats Chavez by the end is evidence of all this. He also finally let go of Christine, just in time for Clea to show up.
For Wanda this was direct continuation of WandaVision, which I’d call required viewing for this movie. Almost immediately from that story’s end she was corrupted to a seemingly irredeemable point by the Darkhold, another central plot device of this film. Agatha’s commentary on her powers was foreshadowing.
Idk how you look at Wanda in AoU to IW, to WandaVision, and now to MoM and say she hasn’t developed. She’s not a Maximoff kid or a sister, not a lover or mother, not an Avenger, she’s the Scarlet Witch now. And a terrifyingly menacing foe for anyone.

this an opinion or has this been said somewhere?
Dude is talking out his arse or he saw an article on Cosmic Book News or some other clickbait site.
Only time I’ve heard age mentioned was speculation that Johnny Storm maybe closer to Peter’s age possibly college roommates or something

I was hyped for this but the movie was pretty bad IMO. Among Marvel’s worst. Don’t get me wrong, some of the Scarlet Witch stuff was great. But the writing was all over the place. I did not feel like it hit any emotional beat.
Some of the effects also came off goofy to me, although ofher effects were great. The illumnati sucked arse outside of Krasinski and Xavier, who was only OK. I felt like the dialogue was so clunky, there was somehow both a ton of exposition but still an amazing amount of hand-waving as well.
Wish I liked it more, hope I do like it next time I catch it. But I can’t see a lot of room for improvement.

We were in theaters to poll @DrStrange in the Multiverse of Madness tonight and audiences gave it a B+. Will you be catching this one? #CinemaScore
I feel like that’s fair. I feel like 5 years from now we will look at this movie and it laid the crumbs for a lot of future MCU stuff, but I don’t know why people expected this to be one of the tip top notch Marvel films?
I would say it slides somewhere in that third tier of movies. In terms of stand alones it’s not No Way Home, Winter Soldier, or Guardians. But it’s also not in the tier of Eternals, the original Thor, or the bottom tier of Thor 2, Iron Man 2, etc.
It was about what I expected it to be. Somewhere in the realm of original Cap, Shang-Chi, Far from Home. Really good and enjoyable MCU movies.

Just watched it
6/10
The movie should have focused on Wanda - she had a legitimate story arc, as opposed to Strange (he never changed).
The editing and pacing was all over the place
And worst of all, the music was absolutely atrocious- it didn’t fit the movie at all. It sounded like something from a cheap sci-fi movie…and completely took me out of the experience over and over. I’m amazed at how few directors understand the power of music in film.

I liked it more than No Way Home. I thought the moral dilemas, motivations, and emotions made way more sense

Don’t forget the Wanda Carol scissor fight I'll admit, when Wanda used The All Powerful Strap-on of Lesbonia to counter Mephisto's Diamond Cock of the Infinite I thought it was all over.

America Chavez was an ABC Family/ CW super hero.
I LOLd at the end when she punched Wanda with her left hand and then said something like she’s not strong enough and then rare’s back with her right hand and hits her. That was bad

Didn't that composer dude on here work on this movie?

Danny Elfman scored this film. An all time great composer.

Were there some cringeworthy lines in this movie or what?
“FORTIFY YOUR MINDS”
“Another 1!!!!”
“I can do this all day”
When AC passes out from the tea.
Horror stuff was awesome tho and Wanda was fantastic.

thought this was a mediocre to bad movie. Very disappointed leaving the theatre and I haven’t felt that often with Marvel.
This shite is getting way too much of a slog and the writing is just getting worse and worse and worse.

I really liked the movie, there werescares, it was nothing too terrifying and I thought it did a really good job with the story, but that’s just it, It did a good job. I feel like I didn’t do anything shocking or crazy that gives it the term “Multiverse of Madness” like obviously we saw some alternate versions of characters, but I feel like they didn’t really expand deep into the Multiverse and all the possibilities. I expected a lot more, I feel like they could’ve been way more expensive with it, I also feel like the plot didn’t do anything like, super crazy.
Really enjoyable film worth a rewatch, even if I wasn’t the huge fan of Illuminati vs. Wanda scene. I wish they show more of Reed Richards’ action.
I’ll give it 7.5/10. Good, not great. I feel like there could’ve been a lot more.

I think the idea of your dreams all being the perspective of other versions of you is really fricking sick tbh

yeah, I liked the movie but would struggle to give it more than a 7/10 if I had to rate it.
I will have to watch it again once it is available to stream but it had some great moments but it could have been way better.
I think the thing that hurts this movie is that it was hyped up as much as No Way Home and just wasn't nearly as good (imo of course). But I did enjoy the soundtrack and the music fight scene so I could see how you wouldn't like this movie if you don't like those things.
