I cringe. All these old ladies stand up and start clapping along, caterwauling. Reminds me of Tennessee Fans whooing while singling Rocky Top. At least Rocky Top is about missing Tennessee. Sweet home Alabama is about missing Alabama.
Calling Baton Rouge seems to be about a truck driver missing an underage hooker. It’s definitely not about missing the state of Louisiana.

Only the ones fortunate enough to take a risk, or be competent enough, to leave Louisiana for good understand what a true destitute wasteland that place is. I’ve still good friends there for lack of a better option I suppose.
