Cobain was a pretty overrated front man that had his legend grow immensely after his death.
Not sure why people say this, because it’s not all that accurate. Nirvana was wildly popular when he killed himself. Has there been some inflation of his image post-mortem? Sure, but it’s not like he and his band were middling in obscurity at the time.

Bob Marley. Now he died at 36 which is older than a lot of others that’ll get mentioned but the guy was creating some of the best music in the history of music and is the greatest musical artist of the entire world. Bigger than Elvis and the Beatles worldwide. He is still covered and sampled to this day by new artists and if he never got cancer I can only imagine how long his career would have gone.

Dime is a good one of course but there likely wouldn't have been a Pantera reunion. Cliff is the obvious considering where people dream they would have went after Puppets. Definitely in their prime.
I love Jason but also would love to hear Justice with Cliffs influence.

Love the pick and miss him with WSP. while Jimmy is supremely talented the sound just isn't the same with the lingering lead of Mikey.
WSP is my favorite band mostly because I was there when they were starting out and got to see them grow into their shoes. 1st show I went to was at Nicks in Bham 89 summer before freshman year at Bama. Getting to see them at bars, fraternity houses and other festivals like City Stages and then when they had to move to larger venues, HORDE and etc. From 89 to 94 went to well over 250 shows then slowed down through 02, we still wwnt to all the majors like NYE, Oak Mountain, 3-night Athens for Live in Classic City, . red rocks is the only venue Im sad I never made).
I picked Duane Allman becuase IMO he was such a pioneer of slide and sound there's no telling how he could have developed.
