They're pretty hit or miss and I don't watch tons of them but I've watched enough to have a favorite.

The cook, the thief, his wife and her lover is just amazing and I think hard to beat, so good luck trying.

I don’t know what an art movie is.

Thomas Crown Affair is about art. Can I pick that one?

Was Raging Bull really an art movie though? Or The Thin Red Line?

Does Parasite count? I would also go with M, The Conformist, The Cabinet Of Dr. Caligari.

This movie is awesome.

Not familiar with that one, but it reminded me of The Last Vermeer.

I say yes to both.

I'm gonna say yes because it's foreign. If they Americanize it one day, then no. The others I haven't seen.

Would the Passenger count? I think Jack Nicholas was fantastic in the movie even though I often don't see it listed in some of his best roles.

Paris, Texas is another film I enjoy. Yojimbo (sp?) is another great one.

I have to be honest, I really haven't kept up with more modern art house films though.

I haven't seen the passenger but I took a gander and it looks pretty frickin' artsy to me, so sure.

Paris Texas, I'm not so sure. Is that artsy or just low budget?

I don't know those. Which one would you recommend the most?

A good one that comes to mind that's fairly recent is The bad batch with Keanu Reeves and Jason Mamoa, who was surprisingly good in it.

I’m probably one of the few on this board that really like Aronofsky films. Even The Fountain and Mother.

I understand the criticisms of these movies, but I really enjoyed their concepts and presentations. The Fountain was a beautiful movie, and Mother was a really cool visual and metaphorical take on certain religious elements. I really enjoyed it.

Now these are good art movies. I didn't fully appreciate The Fountain until after I sat with it for awhile.
