Went down a Rabbit hole. Found this. An Aggy described LSU Football better than anyone.

Ended up on a Reddit thread asking why Kelly would pick LSU over ND because ND is a "Blue-Blood" and threfore should be the better and more desirable job.
So why would he view LSU as the better job?

To understand the allure of LSU you need to understand the historical culture of LSU and what it means to the people of Louisiana. New Orleans is a VERY old city, and it isn’t that far from Baton Rouge, and for decades the state of Louisiana had zero professional sports teams of any kind. So who do you root for? The Bayou Bengals. People from Louisiana are extremely proud of their state and their culture. It rivals Texas pride and it’s also MUCH older. Unlike Texas, which has multiple universities, and a myriad of pro sports teams added onto the fact that each major city is hundreds of miles apart, a very large percentage of Louisiana’s population lives in two places: Baton Rouge and New Orleans. Nearly Everyone in the state lives and breathes Tiger Football. Blue collar or white collar. Graduate or not. You grow up listening to your parents talk about it, your grandparents talk about it. Even if most of your family never went to LSU or even college for that matter. It quickly becomes every kids dream to even just glimpse this glorious place you hear about at every family gathering. Then you make the pilgrimage: If your a girl, you see the allure of the cheerleaders, the Golden Girls, or even the Greek life. For the boys, you hope you have the talent it takes to wear the purple and gold but for most the marching band will suffice. Whatever the case, you are instantly hooked and it becomes not just a goal but an expectation that you attend LSU. Players from Louisiana are not recruited to play for LSU. They are recruited to NOT play for LSU, and that’s the difference. Every CFB coach that has ever recruited a player from LA has experienced this. B. Kelly undoubtedly seen this first hand. This is the very reason mediocre coach’s like Les Miles and Coach O were able to win it all. With LA talent alone you are competitive, supplement that with a few blue chips from Texas, Florida and Georgia and you are elite. Sprinkle in a transfer QB from Ohio and you become legendary.
It’s this same fanatical culture that led to coach O being fired so soon after one of the greatest teams of all time.
Take a trip down to the Bayou and you will get it.

Great article but with today’s lack of loyalty as a whole coupled wit NIL, young people from our current society may blow this theory.

While I appreciate the sentiment, I'd bet the person who wrote this was over 50yo and these points are rapidly evaporating imo.
There isn't a kid alive today that remembers Louisiana having zero professional sports teams. There isn't a kid alive today that has lived a day without internet. For that reason, they can latch onto and become fascinated with any University in the country just as easily as LSU. I think this post makes more sense back when you were only able to listen to a radio broadcast or local sports affiliates and broadcasts. I see this culture as rapidly evaporating and sprinkle in some NIL and it will be all but gone in the next 10 years. I wish I were wrong.

Good take on Louisiana native players but the NIL has changed the college football landscape. Don’t kid yourself, that Louisiana native player “loves” LSU until that fat money offer from Bama or A&M comes in. Damn shame as the kid would probably my be much better off staying closer to home but the allure of that cash is too hard to resist and they end up selling their soul for a few prices of silver.

In a weird way I think this helps grow the lsu brand. Families often move from Louisiana, but keep the culture near to their hearts. We've already seen lsu nab several Texas baws who where really Louisiana baws displaced by Katrina and Rita
