It is next year's recruiting class, the 2025-26 season, and the 2026 recruiting class that determines whether he stays of goes.

This is literally exactly what they said about this class. It was too late to sign a big 2023 class so they started to focus on 2024 early. We signed 2 recruits. Might get a 3rd…

Next year tho.

2023 was 75% committed the day McMahon was hired and signing day was about 6 months later. Are you denying that? As it is, Mike Williams exceeded expectations (and his ranking) and we are hopeful for Chest.

Now, the 2024 class recruitment was largely under the cloud of the NOA and restricted by a scholarship reduction. Yet we got 2 good recruits and might pull a 3rd good one. Are you really going to dis that class if we pull Miller?

Now the 2025 class will have a full year without the NOA and we seem to have our hat in the ring for several top 50 recruits. Add on the missing scholarship and add to a solid base of talent developed in house and you will begin to see where the program is heading.

Did I get anything wrong?

They hired McMahon to build a program by recruiting, developing, and retaining talent. He wasn't brought in as a quick fix.

If we accept mediocrity and worse, that is what we get. McMahon should be in the tournament next year. Let's stop kicking the can down the road.

There are people pumping his recruits and transfers every year on this board. When his results don't meet tournament quality, the excuses fly freely.

This is a yearly rebuild. If he can't do it each year, he shouldn't be the coach. He no longer has the Wade excuse. But his fans will dream up more. Perhaps it takes 5 years for a genius such as McMahon to get it right.

It's not mediocrity. The Wade Effect had the program at just about the lowest a program can get. That we are back to .500 where Wade left it by year 2 of the rebuild is amazing. Wade could NEVER do that. He would be flopping around if he took over a program like the one he left behind.

Brethren not trying to be the thread police but let's not fill the recruiting thread with Wade v McMahon arguments.

I'm thinking if we can wrap up miller and sears I'd like us to try and get a center(depending if we process anyone)

Well, the very first thing you said was absolutely absurd. 75% of the class is commited the spring before their signing day. Then, you think that the NOA has an effect the entire offseason after an announcement that they were slapping our wrist. He litterally landed the highest rated recruit of his career within a month of being hired when people actually believed we were about to get crushed. It’s just poor excuses.

Wade had bigger issues recruiting at McNeese than he left at lsu. Wade just took McNeese to the big dance and tied for biggest turnaround in ncaa history in his first year.

Wade also took over a dismal program left over by Jones in an era without current transfer rules and immediately turned the program around.

Wade also had t e good fortune to get Tremont Waters on the rebound from Georgetown after they fired Patrick Ewing. Credit to him for this signing, but without Waters its doubtful they have a winning record. This is not to demean Wade in any way but just to point out dame fortune can smile on you sometimes. To be fair perhaps Wade had built a prior relationship with Tremont even though he didn't sign him then and was later able to cash in when he got the LSU job. McMahon's first season here may have ended a lot different if Ja Morant was just a few years younger and ended up a Tiger. No matter what you think McMahon has righted the ship and will have the program back in the Big Dance and challenging the top teams for SEC superiority.

Tremont Waters was also the first guy Will Wade paid. 120k was the cost to get the program back on track

There is no evidence to suggest that McMahon will come close to Wade's success at LSU. Only the unsupported hopes of the McMahon sycophants have that faith.

Part of being a successful coach is getting good players consistently. Wade was able to do that at all of his head coaching jobs including his current one. McMahon has not been able to do that at LSU. Bringing up Ja Morant as McMahon's big recruiting accomplishment at his one prior head coaching gig has not translated to his results at LSU thus far.

I hope McMahon is successful here, but I am not holding my breath.

There is no evidence that he won't either other than the program jumped into the top half of the SEC once McMahon got past the empty cupboard he inherited. That is progress and hopefully he can build on it and jump a place or two in league standings. The program could be on the precipice of something special or it could stagnate. We don't know but McMahon deserves four years and then judge where they stand.

Great point. Georgetown (or any other schools that signed top talent) DID NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES COME ANYWHERE CLOSE TO ILLEGALLY RECRUITING Tremont.

Just that big bad ole meanie Will Wade. Man am I happy we got rid of his cheating arse so our program can be clean and so mediocre.

Or maybe Wade is just a great recruiter and wins every motherflucking place he goes, almost instantly.
