that hate for personal injury attorneys

i get it, the ads are annoying but why the absolute hate?
we perform a service. i cant tell you how many rock-ribbed conservative types have come to me bitching and moaning about how they havent been treated fairly etc. by an insurance company. who do they turn to?
GEICO, Allstate et al can have tv commercials every 5 minutes, yet i never hear complaints.
are there bad ones? of course. i cant stand them because they give us a black eye. however in any profession there are bad actors.
tl;dr---just shut your pie hole.

Do insurance company commercials continually talk about how evil and bad plaintiff attorneys are and suggest you’ll become a millionaire by calling them after an accident? No? Then there’s no equivalency there.

Seeing accidents with sub-$1000 in property damage result in 5 figure bodily injury claim payouts is usually a good reason why people hate PI lawyers.
ETA: billboard lawyers market to the lowest dregs of society and encourage the exact thing I mentioned above. I have no ill will towards most lawyers…just the PI lawyers who put their faces all over town on billboards and TV screens

The awards, the settlements that are forced to protect insureds, all supported by willing chiropractors and doctors who relate excessive treatment based on nothing more than subjective complaints of pain and judges elected by plaintiff attorneys giving out up to $50k without a jury filter, yeah, all those require increased premiums to pay out.
There’s a reason Louisiana premiums are so much higher than other states. It’s not because Louisiana collisions are somehow more injurious than in other states…
