I’m fat. I ride a bike every time I go to the gym. To at least partially do something to increase cardio

Cardio is VERY painful for people that don’t do cardio.

Never quite understood people being annoyed at fatties for hitting the gym. Isn’t that, ya know, what we should want them to be doing lol

Lifting weights is a better way to lose fat bro. You should know that being a regular and all.

This is flat out bullshite. 20 minutes of jogging doesn't do jack. You can't outrun a bad diet. Adjusting your diet and building muscle is exponentially more effective in changing body composition than cardio.

Old school bodybuilders didn't even do cardio to cut, only diet.

OP is an ignorant douchebag. Think about 2 Oreos, now think about how much cardio you would need to do to burn them. Diet plays most significant role by a long shot.

Cardio is cardio, doesn't get you losing weight.

Diet is the only way you fool.

Thanks for the education, tough guy. You should start a fitness youtube channel or something.

Not much. About 6 calories per day per pound of additional muscle. It's the actual lifting that leads to increases in resting metabolic rate for hours after the workout.

going from sedentary to lifting is cardio, homie. It jacks up the heart rate and builds upper body muscle to burn fat.

While I respect and agree with the sentiment, I do chuckle that you specifically mentioned upper body and entirely ignored the concept of leg day

Working with weights »»» running (walking in their case)

I was a big fatass at one time (6'2" 260 lbs) - I did both weights and cardio and took off all the extra weight. It's never come back - weigh in at about 180 now. Cardio is important element too.

diet fix

Cardio might be good for overall health, but jogging for 20 minutes and then drinking a 2 liter coke ain't going to help you much.

A diet fix is what the majority of the obese in this country is missing. A good diet and just being active (not sitting on the couch all day/night would sure help a lot of folks.
