Ben won't play against the Sixers in Philly tomorrow supposedly because he has back issues but Klutch about to do work.

quote:

Philadelphia had fined Simmons roughly $20 million, and it had long been speculated that the former Sixer would pursue action and send this matter to arbitration. Simmons camp, specifically his representation Klutch Sports, asserts that the conditions he was forced to work in fed his mental health issues and led to his inability to play for the Sixers this season. Paul had this to say to The Athletic’s Shams Charania back in November 2021:

“I truly believe the fines, the targeting, the negative publicity shined on the issue — that’s very unnecessary and has furthered the mental health issues for Ben… Either you help Ben, or come out and say he’s lying. Which one is it?”

The suggestion has been floated in league circles that Simmons showing up for Thursday’s game is merely setting the stage for Simmons and Klutch Sports’ argument when the grievance is filed… Put Simmons in the middle of that storm, the argument goes, and it’s believed that will be Exhibit A in the case of why Simmons could not and did not fulfill his obligations for the Sixers prior to being traded, why he was unprepared to work for this franchise prior to being dealt.

So it seems that by having Ben in the arena in Philly, Klutch is essentially using his mental health issues as bait. When he's traumatized by the circus atmosphere they can say...see, just more evidence of what Philly has done to my client.

It is a shame what Adam "looks like a thumb" Silver has allowed Klutch/Lebrin to get away with. David Stern would have crushed Lebron's empire before it could get its wings off the ground.

Considering that it’s Philly that’s not a terrible strategy

Would be pretty funny if Philly fans could plan a Ben Simmons celebration just to shite on this plan. Cheer him like crazy, start a Ben Simmons chant, make signs. Even the team can play a tribute video and they can formally honor his contributions.

Ben Simmons is a bigger pussy than Russell Westbrook, and that's saying something.

Except by knowing the kind of reaction Simmons is going to get and still bringing him to the game, they're going to clearly demonstrate that he is capable of mentally handling it. Like if Philly is so bad for him, he should probably stay home. But obviously.

If he had only shot the ball instead of passed under the rim because 5'6" defensive legend Trae Young was coming up on him, none of this would have ever happened.

Pretty sure there will be a tribute video. Also the Nets have to be pushing for him To be in the arena too. Good chance he will be playing playoff games there within 6-8 weeks the time is now for him to face all of that for the first time.

Agreed, but I think Silver can be wily when he wants to be. I think the owners are going to push back on this “mental health but still pay me” stuff because it opens Pandora’s Box.

Morey is smart enough and I think the 76ers owner would be down to fight it. It’s just if the other owners think they can withstand the possible PR hit but I think this is a great test case because it’s so transparent and Simmons is so unlikeable. It’s not like KAT and his mom died and he needed time to grieve. This tantrum is directly related to basketball and his (lack of) competitive fire. The general public sees it for what it is. The purple-haired, tranny woke crowd isn’t watching basketball anyway.

Stern retired in 2014. LeBron/Klutch had already orchestrated the "Big 3" Miami move and was already speaking out about Trayvonn Martin and other SJW stuff before Stern retired.

Stern only cared about thug image and violence.

Are you kidding? Stern created the "stars over team" atmosphere that has infected the NBA the last few decades.
