I watched a couple MNF games this year solely for the Manningcast. But that's about it.
quote:

Like that comparison because they’re both really 3s who had to play 4 in college which kind of limited us seeing them in playmaking situations. Smith is somewhere in between Durant and Tatum with the combination of size and polish. Probably could’ve scored 23-25 per game at auburn if he’d have taken more than 12 shots per game.

Durant - 18.5 attempts, 25.8ppg
Smith- 12.6 attempts, 16.9ppg
At 18.5 attempts Smith would’ve averaged 24.8ppg

How you can read what everyone says about Smith, then post these stats, and then somehow still argue that Durant is a good comparison for Smith is kind of mind blowing. Why do you think he doesn't get nearly as many attempts as KD? It's because he's not great a creating his own shot. He's 6'10" but shot under 45% from inside the 3 point line. He's simply not very good at driving to and finishing at the rim yet. Nobody's saying he's completely incapable of doing it, but it's not at all a strength of his game, particularly compared to other prospects.

But look, I've still got him as my top prospect in the draft, and as a Rockets fan I'm really hoping he somehow slips to us. We just don't need to make him out to be something he's not. The 6'10" Klay Thompson comp was spot on, IMO. You're not going to throw him the ball at the top of the key and ask him to get you a bucket super often. But if you pair him with a good passer he's going to make you pay anytime you give him a inch. He'll be able to give you an easy 20+ a night just fitting into the offense, and combine that with elite defense and you've got an incredibly valuable player.

I think it's fair to say though, that both Chet and Banchero have higher ceilings. If Chet can add a bunch of muscle and stay healthy and rounds out all the skills he already has, he'll be a better player than Jabari can be. If Banchero commits to being a great defender and becomes a knock down shooter, he'll be a better player than Jabari can be. But I wouldn't rate either Chet or Banchero as super likely to fulfill their potential. So to answer Slo's original question, yeah I guess you're admitting that he might not be the best player in the draft, but I don't think you're admitting that he's definitely not the best player in the class.

If everyone took the same pride in their product that Augusta National does, the world would be a better place.
Tennessee improved so much after finally escaping from Guarantonomo Bay. This is just a silly take.
Except by knowing the kind of reaction Simmons is going to get and still bringing him to the game, they're going to clearly demonstrate that he is capable of mentally handling it. Like if Philly is so bad for him, he should probably stay home. But obviously.
Chip Kelly did this a few years ago against the Saints at the end of the first half. They've since put in a rule to stop anyone from doing this too egregiously, but I think it doesn't kick in until you've done it twice in a row, so it may have been workable here. I'm not going to criticize a team for not being flagrantly unsportsmanlike though.
Everyone complains about soft zone defense in those situations until anyone plays anything else...

Interestingly, this isn't Morey's first tussle with a talented point forward type that couldn't shoot and refused to play because of mental health issues. That first fight didn't work out too well for Royce. But #BeWell, Ben.
I think it's quite obvious that he wasn't lying about the ramifications of being in the pool. He had gotten a bit of a reputation around New York for being well endowed. That's why he was so adamant about setting the record straight with Jerry's girl, he'd be ruined if people started to believe the hype wasn't real.

Still hands down, the GOAT debut.

It's really not. He cut a mediocre promo, got shouted down by the Rock, and ended up looking like a bitch. Kane's debut was so much better.

You think its a coincidence with no correlation the entire league wide data is at an all time high?

Honest question: has the data maybe just been trending this way for years with the increase in load management across the league?

Is this season really that much more intensive than past seasons, though? I know everyone points to the quick turnaround, but it was a turnaround from a small amount of games. The vast majority of players haven't played more games from the start of the bubble until now than they would in a normal season. They got 3 months off before the bubble which is about the same as a normal offseason, and since then I'm not sure if anyone has played more than 100 games, which is how many you'd play in a normal finals run. Maybe the season has been a little condensed, but I find it kinda hard to believe that that's caused a huge surge in injuries.
Meh, that's nothing. The Rockets bench once combined for a line of 0 points, 6 rebounds, and 0 assists in a playoff game. LINK
Nope. You're remembering the highlights from the stars. Most post play was ugly and boring. And Embiid and Jokic still go to work in the post if you need your fix. Plus it's fun watching them create their own post up opportunities without needing to receive a deep entry pass, since the zone rules have made it so difficult to just toss it down there.
If y'all need any more courses for the society, I published Bayoy Bons Temps a couple weeks ago. It's very scoreable, but can show its teeth if you're overaggressive and your tempo's off. And it's pretty nice looking, if I do say so myself.

So what is your suggestion?

Reading comprehension ain't so hot either, apparently.

Let him keep the 100, then work him like a dog for a month straight.

I forgot to add. At the end, take the 100 back.

That way he understands that theft sucks.

Do it, and thank us later.

A few minutes in time-out won't fix it.

Let him know you mean business and aren't fricking around.

Man this is a tough call. You've got one suggestion saying you should teach him that stealing is wrong by teaching him about the value of money, showing him how much hard work it takes to earn money and how much it sucks to have your money stolen after that hard work. Thus, he wouldn't steal in the future because he sees how unfair it is. Conversely, you've got another suggestion saying you should teach him that stealing is wrong by beating his arse, showing him that since he's small he shouldn't steal because he'll feel pain. Thus, he won't steal for the next couple years, until he's big enough to not be scared of his old man, at which point he'll revert to being a delinquent because he only learned that stealing is wrong because he might get in trouble for it. Real tough decision here.

The lack of critical thinking some of y'all display is absolutely fascinating. But obviously y'all were raised not to think, so it makes sense.
quote:

Why would the NFL choose to have 2 Sundays in the fall with no games? That makes no sense.

They wouldn't. They'd be choosing to have 2 extra Sundays in the fall with games. More TV revenue and easy fixes to the predictably jacked up schedule. It makes perfect sense if you have any semblance of intelligence. Which is why it's not happening in the NFL.
Because every team in the league will be hesistant to completely commit to stopping the run against us in the 4 minute drill knowing that we're willing to call plays like that.
