Is the relaxation of grooming standards the cause of poor fielding?

The sloppiness and lack of crispness of the baseball team's fielding has rightly commanded a large amount of airtime following this weekend's disappointing Shiners Classic.
Notably, a larger contingent of the baseball team is going with the try-hard mullet and/or mustache look this season. This reflects a lackadaisical attitude among the team that is problematic and contagious.
Studies overwhelmingly prove that personal grooming is correlated with focus, attention to detail, and overall professionalism. If you skip the barber, skip your daily shave, and generally don't take care of your personal business, are you going to have the mental toughness, discipline, and tenacity to care about the aspects of baseball that may be mundane, but are still very important?
The key to getting the fielding issues corrected is to reinstitute the ban on long hair and facial hair on the team.
I hope that Coach Johnson sees the light and remedies the issue with what really is a simple solution.

The increase in facial hair has led to more errors. Direct correlation. Shave it at practice today.

I don't think it correlates but Mullets and Staches do look better on winning teams

Unless their beards are so long that they start tripping over them I don't think this is something to be worried about

No, but would be a good motivational tactic. Until team fielding % reaches a certain level then all facial hair must go.

Dude no disrespect but I think you’re a douche for this.

what you are suggesting is both ridiculous and likely truthful to a degree

Funny you say this...
Last year, when PM started off the year with a relaxed shave rule, they were 14-3. Right before conference play, in the midweek against Southeastern, PM reinforced the rule. They shaved and proceeded to go 20-19.

Clean shaves and high and tights for everyone. Look like a bunch of hippie girls out there anyway. If I was Skip Bertman, I’d tell ‘em get off my lawn.
