Some Disparate Thoughts and Questions About Sandwiches

1) Did you know that Central Grocery muffulettas are available at Zuppardo's in Metairie? Claimed to be the only place they are available in the New Orleans area. They are about $25 for a whole one.
2) I sometimes use hummus as a spread on sandwiches instead of mayo or mustard. Do you have any other things you use in this way?
3) I recently found out that "true" Philly Cheesesteaks don't have green pepper on them. I never had a Philly that didn't come with them.
4) I think it is a good rule of sandwiches that soft fillings should go on soft bread and hard bread should have hard fillings.

If you put something soft like tuna salad on hard bread, it will ooze out. On white sandwich bread, no problem.

I love a little pimento cheese on a hamburger in place of a slice of cheese. The hummus thing sounds great, will have to try that.

On a torta, they typically use refried beans.
At Pat's and Geno's, a basic cheesesteak is just bread, meat, onions and cheese. The real question is provolone, American or cheese wiz.

Creamy horseradish on a burger bun or roast beef sandwich.
I have also devolved to using like 10 pickles on my ham and cheese sandwiches. I can't stop.

Good either way. Not sure I’d call one without not “true”

I called their store the other day and found this out and also available to order to ship from what the recording said.

No fricking way in hell I'd pay $25 for a muffuletta. I can get the buns from Rouses bakery and all the cold cuts needed from their deli, along with the olive salad and make my own for a lot less.

My wife has never heard of and is disgusted by the thought of a banana and mayonnaise sandwich. I LOVE those.
It really made me question her character
