I know this is the LSU forum, but I thought everyone may find this interesting.
Former LSU asst. coach Bill Busch now coaches the special teams at Nebraska. This is what he did last week:
Pretty neat.
Former LSU asst. coach Bill Busch now coaches the special teams at Nebraska. This is what he did last week:
quote:
"In some of his first special teams meetings leading up to Nebraska’s opening spring practice this week, Busch showed his players game film of LSU’s punt team from their national championship season in 2019.
On a squad loaded with NFL talent, Busch pointed to one future draft pick after another - 10 of the 11 starters, to be exact, including several future first-rounders - lining up on one of the least-glamorous units in football.
Each one of those players was willing to do whatever it took to make an impact for their team, Busch said, and it helped pave their path to future success."
Pretty neat.

Still remember Michael Clayton and Jarvis being head hunters on kick off.

Thank you for Joe Burrow Mr. Busch!

Didn't Devin White get pissed in a team meeting because some young guys didn't want to be on special teams because they were highly ranked in recruiting?

Landry murdering that Auburn player in 2011 was beautiful.

I remember those threads. It’s hilarious that so many people’s initial reaction was that it was Perrilloux. It’s like they didn’t know that more than one player can have the same number.

Got to also thank the present head coach that thought JB was not better than what they had. JB would have chosen Nebraska if offered because of his family ties.

I was at that auburn game and you could hear the hit from where I was. Didn’t he level the guy 3 times in one game?

Devin White aka "that crazy somebitch wearing #24" was fun to watch on special teams his freshman year. I think he thoroughly enjoyed crushing a returner. They weren't used to someone that big being first down the field as a headhunter. BAM!

Yeah, all that is true. On the other hand, when Tom Osborn was coaching there, those corn fed boys would line up to walk on to play for and run through walls for him…

Devin White started his entire legacy off of special teams. It’s a great way for young guys to get noticed, I think our special teams is going to be stellar under Polian

That is pretty awesome.

I think Jarvis would have leveled him again, but by the third return, the returner just went to ground when Jarvis got within 5 yards of him! That dude had been hit enough!

Tyrann Mathieu, Ron Brooks, and Brad Wing were the most lethal punter/gunners combo in football history, you won’t be able to convince me otherwise.

Went to school with Clayton. Man I miss that guy he was such a blocking beast and such god given talent.
