My mom called me once and asked me to come over for dinner because her friend Lou was in town. When I get there the freaking Incredible Hulk is sitting at the dinner table. Apparently they had been friends for years, and she knew he was an actor, but didn't know what he had done. I was shocked.

Taking an elevator up to the Casino floor with GF (no pics), doors open: BOOM! Sugar Ray Leonard RIGHT THERE for some reason -- looking shocked. No one else nearby. I immediately recognized him and said hello, extending my hand to shake his; he looked toward his two bodyguards as if asking with his eyes whether it was ok. And he did. Immediate Impression: Much smaller in person. No small talk.

I met Sugar Ray Leonard at the airport in Syracuse. I said hi, Champ, he acknowledged my greeting and that was the extent of our interaction. He had two rather large gentlemen flanking him on either side.

I had just turned 21 and we went on 6th street in Austin. We ran into Vince Young and his crew in front of a bar. I was absolutely smashed. I grabbed a hundred dollar bill and tried to get him to sign it. He said that was illegal and that he wouldn’t do it. This was just around the time he went broke, so I said “frick it, you can keep it, I hear you need it more than me”. He didn’t find it nearly as funny as I did, and his group escorted me away with the $100 in my face.

Unfortunately my best story is a near miss. One night in about 1983 a friend asked me if I wanted to go see the Red Hot Chili Peppers in some small club in Phoenix. I declined because I had to study (probably the only time I let studying get in the way of anything). He ended up partying with them on their tour bus all night.

When I was a waiter I did however wait on Linda Ronstadt and her band one time and Doc Severnson another.

Summer of 2006 I just graduated high school and me and some buddies went to Seaside for vacation. We go out to the beach one day with an ice chest of beer and there is a man near 70 and another in his 40s sitting in chairs next to us. The man has a Saints visor on so we start shooting the shite

As time passes that day we end up getting shite faced together. His wife was playing with the young kids and she was pissed at him

Anyway, this continues for like 5 days. One night him and what turns out to be his father in law asked up to join them at Red Bar and we listened to music and drank together. We legit were bromance buds for a week

The last day I asked him what he did for a living :

New Saints head coach.

Yep, when he said his name was Sean I never thought anything of it and didn’t really recognize him at all at first because it wasn’t a big deal at the time

And when him and his wife got divorced years later it all made sense. They were always kissed at each other that trip

Funny thing to when we were out at red bar nobody came up and noticed him at all. So strange to think about now

Went to Santa Fe with my boss and his wife. Bob tells me to meet with him at 4:45 we have an invitation to go into Red Wing's studio at 5PM. Red Wing is one of the Indians in Dancing with Wolves. We're sitting around and talking when in walks Wes Studi. Minutes later here comes Kevin Costner. He walks over to my favorite painting in the studio. Red Wings' people in his paintings are relatives. The painting is one lone Apache Indian sitting on a large rock with a Winchester in his hands.

Talking to Wes, I told him, "There are few actors that i came to hate during a movie. When you were finally killed and were thrown from the cliff in Last of the Mohicans, I wanted to stand and cheer." "What about Dancing with Wolves?" "I was OK in that, but did you have to use so many arrows?"

My BIL was working a movie set that I got to be an extra in that Minka Kelly was staring in. Super friendly and approachable. Even more of a babe in real life.

Played golf at Bel-Air CC and Mike Dunleavy joined us on the back 9 then for dinner. Good dude. Thinks LeBron is a b and MJ is goat.

Met Bill Ackman on the floor of the NY stock exchange. Seemed like a pretty normal dude talking about how he had to go home and take care of his new baby who wasn’t sleeping. Had a pretty killer IWC pilot on.

Lorne Greene and his entourage almost ran me over with a golf cart in LAX.
I rode an elevator in the MGM Grand with Charo.
I smoked weed with the drummer of Strawberry Alarm Clock in Korea.
I gave Sen. Sam Nunn the executive tour of the SAC Warning Center Command Post.
I attended a party at the Chicago Playboy Mansion.
I rode on a tour bus in Scottsdale next to Mr. Wizard.
That’s all I got.

Started pouring down rain at the PGA at Shoal Creek and I was running scorecards with my best friend at the time. Bottom drops out while we are xeroxing the cards, and in comes Jack, Arnie and Gary Player. So it was just us 5 in there for about 6-7 minutes. They were as nice as could be and signed autographs and just shot the shite. My dad was so jealous.

Sat next to Harvey Weinstein and Dennis hopper and Jeff Zucker at the Apollo Theater in NYC seeing the Gorillaz. Harvey was as obnoxious as you would imagine.

Got to go meet Wayne Gretzky underneath Bridgestone at a Preds game. He was super pissed that the Coyotes had lost. Very competitive dude. Saw Jeremy Roenig too, then a few months later ran in to him on a golf course in Simi Valley.

Watched Auburn win the natty in Vegas with Horry in 2010

The Rock was shooting a movie nearby and started coming into my gym early in the mornings (5am) before filming.

One day I was doing dumbbell bench presses and he came over to ask if he could borrow them when I was done. They were 70lbs. He took them from me and started doing bicep curls lol

I was like DAMN

He’s a super nice guy but much shorter in person than he looks on tv.

Asked Shaq if he was going to beat out Stanley Roberts for the center job a second time after he got drafted by Orlando. He said, Nah, it's not like that.

Christopher Plummer came to eat where I was working years ago. I did not serve him but he was very nice and quiet. He didn’t want any attention and was polite. He tipped the waitress well. The rest of the movie crew was at the bar and they were rowdy, but fun.

I was in a Vegas club and Wayne from Wonder Years was standing next to me and he said hi.....whoa

I was visiting with a good looking customer chick and Shaq was sneaking up behind her and looked at me and gave me the shush sign so he could surprise her. I was rendered completely irrelevant once Shaq arrived.

Went to Palms casino when it first opened late one night. Was standing by this craps table watching the players and kinda watching the tvs showing Joe Montana Superbowl highlights. The guy in front if me finally straightened up from the table and turned around and it was Joe Montana.

Got to Interview BB King after his show in Baton Rouge. Me and buddy were let into the dressing room with BB and it was just us and BB until his trumpet player walked in with a couple of lovely ladies. We sat there for the next 30 minutes while BB flirted and talked to the ladies. When finished and they left he turned to us and said “man you gotta love that stuff”

Does hearing Skip grumble something motivational at his baseball camp in the 80s count? I bet lots of us can claim that.

Shook the hand of Rodney Dangerfield at the Tropicana and had a great conversation with Red Fox at the Hilton circa 1980.

Worked at a chain upper end (for BR) steakhouse, met a lot of different celebs when BR was Hollywood south. My favorite though was 2 women came in every night and always ordered an extra well done 14 oz NY strip with Mac and cheese and a baked potato. They always requested me and I didn’t mind the damn near extra $100 on their tab. They said it was for one of their dogs. We held the wrap party for the movie battleship. Later that night at the cove, I met Rihanna. She talked about how one of her assistants every night brought her the well done NY strip, Mac and cheese and baked potato…I couldn’t help but laugh

Eta: with that job I also met Jonny Knoxville, Jennifer love Hewitt, the entire cast of pitch perfect, the entire twilight cast (have a funny to me story of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart), all lsu coaches, lane Kiffin (when he was the head coach at USC), all 50 of the miss America contestants one year, and I’m sure many more that I now forget
