Another issue creating the deficit is the PFC apartments program that Whit recently killed.

Effectively apartments could provide some level of “affordable” housing on half the units and in turn not pay any property taxes. Turns out the properties don’t really provide much affordability and aren’t really measured on that “affordability” by the COH or the housing authority.

One of the reasons Whit fired everyone but they still passed 13 ish PFCs before they al got fired. Pretty sure there are over 50 of these all over town. Housing authority wanted them to be in nicer parts of town so a number of them are upper Kirby and other nice areas providing no real benefit but a huge cost to tax payers.

Removing these could easily cover this shortfall.
Best thing Bruce ever did was not sing it himself.
It isn’t as much oil money is Alys as I would have thought. Attorneys, real estate, ex-athletes… Sean Peyton just bought a house, an old Atlanta pitcher just sold his place.

Surprisingly, there are some internet “influencers” / snake oil sales people with houses too. Excited for that bubble to pop. A few even have their houses in non for profits.
Grateful Dead - Winterland Arena - Dec. 31 1978

Pretty tough to beat ringing in a new year with the Dead in their prime. There are a few shows from Europe 1972 is also up there.

Still in for the long haul on TLSS. Been a nice bounce back but. Hell of a long way to go.

Anyone else still ridin?
From ESPN, “ In fact, almost half of the players who transfer don't find a new school to attend.”

I was very surprised by how few find a new home and how risky it is for the person transferring. I’m sure it will improve as people figure out all the rules.

T Mobile is freaking terrible. Had it for all of 6 months and could not believe just how bad the service was and how many dropped calls I had. Their customer service is also terrible.

Verizon isn’t amazing but holy shite is it better than T Mobile.

How is asking for support / data being down voted?
I have been listening to The Political Orphanage, it’s good interviews and entertaining. Not exactly political but more on recent topics. Libertarian take on most things.

Hardcore History is great too.

Have heard good things about Acquired for business type of content but haven’t tried it out yet.
Robert Kraft built it and never moved in. Place is stupid.

Not sure why they couldn’t buy one of the empty lots rather than tear this one down though.
Howard is legit but let’s pump the breaks homie

re: Is T Mobile worth signing up with?

No, absolutely not. I signed up a number of years ago thinking, how bad could it be? Was freaking impressively terrible.
