Though in AD’s case I think what took place had more to do with Lebron James begging for superstars, Lebron using Rich Paul and both of them manipulating AD’s naive arse into selling out on Nola and going to L.A.. AD isn’t the best looking fella in the world being a 7 footer with bad teeth and a unibrow, so when Lebron kept pressing him, and he saw Lebron as “one of the cool people to be seen with in public” he was all over it.
Lebron invited him to L.A. and was willing to be seen in public with him outside of an NBA game and AD was just happy to have 1 cool friend that wouldn’t ostracize him for his unibrow and bad breath and teeth.
AD realizes now, looking back probably that he had been duped and played. Lebron gets all the credit for any success that team had for the mickey mouse tournament they won during covid.
