Yeah I don’t think JJ’s reaction is connected to CAA. To me, it’s the reaction and thoughts of a guy who wasn’t the most naturally gifted or athletic, but worked his absolute arse off to make it to the league and then every year just to stay in the league. Then he sees Zion who has all of the gifts in the world, but wastes them because he doesn’t want to work. Hard working guys like JJ can’t stand guys wired like Zion. It frustrates them because guys like Zion don’t truly understand or appreciate the work guys like JJ have to put in.

Yes he/they are total clowns, but Nick Wright on FoxSports weighing on, going after Zion:

quote:

"Zion needs better people around him.
@Chris_Broussard
, you need to intervene. You're an NBA elder. You need to get him & say man, 'This ain't it.' The idea that the Pelicans would trade for CJ & Zion wouldn't talk to him is unfathomable."

Laughable to think he would use Chris Broussard as a mentor or something

But they are going after him.

Honest question, did the national media make a big deal out of that?

FYI:

Zach Lowe says JJ is going to be on NBA Today with him in 20 minutes to talk about it.

They all do this without involving CJ?

I mean very possible.

CJ actually commented in one of his interviews recently about getting into the various group chats because, jokingly, he plans to carry over his Portland tradition of getting guys to not leave dirty towels and clothes strung about because the low paid janitors already have enough shite to deal with besides picking up your dirty jockstraps....which was prompted cause someone hit up his Portland group text with an image of someone leaving shite strewn about saying your presence is already missed, people already slipping

If you are trying to say that there are a lot of people that will interpret things a certain way, yeah, obviously. All the threads today are basically speaking to that, and debating what perceptions may have truth behind them, and which may be false assumptions.

perpetual perceptions about our organization are becoming truth regardless of any actual truth to matters. if the organization isn't in front of changing these narratives... then the narratives are reality.

Meh, I'm glad the media is helping the Pels out for a change. Especially with the AD bullshite and how they made every fricking excuse possible for him wanting out.

We got First Take going at Zion.

We got First Things First going at Zion.

I imagine Shannon Sharpe will go at Zion, with whatever that show's name is.

I'm all for this and hope it just continues relentlessly.

I mean right now im not sure what you are getting at?

Right now the narrative forming is shoveling all the blame on Zion, this recent set of media cycles have been a net win for our team image. Zion is the one making himself appear lazy, disconnected, immature, in the wrong etc.

Just put ESPN on, Max and JJ are already talking about it right now lol

ETA: He didn't elaborate, but JJ said he's more optimistic now that Zion will play again for the Pels when asked if he'd play his last game with us.

It was talked about on every talk show on NBA radio the next day, and there was an article about it in ESPN. I don't watch ESPN talk shows to tell you if they talked about it there.

but its still all a disconnect between a star player not wanting to be here with this organization. i'm just pissed at everything. Griffin should have been fired. His primary job was building a relationship with this team/city/and with zion williamson. It's been a complete failure. he has to pay the price.

So this is kinda what ESPN does. They have one of their personalities "make News" with a take and then they have all of their people talk about that take the rest of the day.

Its a never ending cycle and its pretty damn smart.

JJ got on that. That doesn't mean it all isn't true though.

Anyone who has ever spent a weekend in Louisiana gets propped up as a spokesman. So Broussard should mentor Zion and that douche from The Ringer still gets brought on pods as some Pelicans authority because he covered them for a season.

Im all for firing Griff, but Zion is doing himself no favors with feeding the narrative of a dysfunctional organization.

If anything, the narrative forming is of NOP as the victim of Zion, not what it had been, which was Zion as the victim of the NOP.

Griff honestly probably bought himself another year, maybe more, just on how poorly Zion and his camp have handled everything.

Can't build a relationship with someone that doesn't want to build a relationship with you.

Griff has been responsible for building a team that has 2 all star players that WANTS to come here and be here. He's built a team where they traded for an expiring big man that came in and them days later signed a multi year extension for below market value because he WANTS to be here.
