100%. If you can’t move forward, and they can’t, you have to build up defenses and make it so they can’t move forward, either.

Objectively speaking, at this point, this is the only way Ukraine to come out of this war on anything resembling favorable terms.

It's been that way since 2014, but especially so since Feb 2022. Ukrainians don't want to be part of Russia.

The Russians claim that air defence systems were operating, and an allegedly "Ukrainian drone" "fell and caught fire" on the territory of the oil depot.

If the Russian version of events is true then luck is not on their side. How do you shoot down the drone and it still hits the target perfectly?

Russia is a third world country with nukes, and a large military. They are basically Pakistan North. I would say or India North but India’s economic development is miles ahead of Russia.

Some of this boards worship of it is sickeningly stupid and ill conceived. It’s like worshipping North Korea or something. It’s essentially treason and I over warning people about it. You reap what you sow, and your God will not break his stride to step over your dead body, and he is an old man too. Dictatorships die with the dictator mfers.

Obviously, you mfers have never been there, it’s like Detroit from the 70s filled with alcoholic white guys. Its decline is real, predictable and unavoidable. Sorry bitches but we won the mfer Cold War, easily and significantly.

The Arab terrorist want to go back to the 15th century, the English back to the 18th and the Russians back to the 60s and 70s. Before it’s over we are probably going to want to come back to this time.

They have some very good people there, some are or were friends, but it’s always been a dictatorship and probably always will be. It’s ingrained into their culture. Mother Russia and all, they are like my brother, they need to be told what to do. They are 100 times more corrupt than Ukraine. All countries are corrupt, including us

Enough already, just renounce your US citizenship and move there. ( but I would suggest you bring lots of thick coats and penicillin. )

Some act as if Russia is a utopia, but when the USSR dissolved most of the break off nations ran for the hills. Most solicited NATO and the EU for eligibility.

Now many of these nations are actively helping Ukraine. Why is that?

Why did Sweden and Finland who were neutral for decades run to NATO for protection? Why? Why not align yourself up with a country that is prosperous, learned and a great place to live?

Black Sea clear of Russian warships for six days in a row — Ukrainian Navy
March 10, 2024, 05:15 AM

After the destruction of the patrol ship Sergey Kotov, the Russian Navy reduced the number of military vessels in occupied Crimea to a minimum, Ukrainian Navy spokesman Dmytro Pletenchuk said on national television on March 10.

The remaining ships "are mostly those that could not find a palace in the [Russian Black Sea] bases of Novorossiysk, Sochi, and Tuapse,” he said.

No enemy ships have been present in the Black Sea for six days, except for the small missile ship Cyclone.

"It is supposed to be a carrier of cruise missiles, but it is used to cover air defense. By the way, this is a ship that has never been able to launch a missile... Less valuable and less useful assets are now all that is left [in Crimea]".

Ukraine has almost certainly accelerated the construction of defensive positions on several areas of the front line. This includes anti-tank dragon's teeth and ditches, infantry trenches, minefields, and fortified defensive positions.

This should have been done as soon as their last offensive stalled.

The Ukrainian's have been fortifying the area since the summer of 2014. The Ukrainians was advancing on Donetsk until Russia sent troops into Donetsk to repel the Ukrainian advance of Donetsk. After Ukraine lost control of the Donetsk airport it fell back to Avdiivka. It spent 9 years engaged in trench warfare in Avdiivka with the DPR forces (aka Russian troops out of uniform) but Avdiivka was not only fortified area there. After Ukraine suffered a humiliating defeat in early 2015, it switched to a filly defensive footing. It has spent the last 9 years identifying fallback positions are preparing them in case the frontline defenses in the Donetsk area such as Avdiivka fell. The only thing it did not do was place minefields and anti tank obstacles like dragon teeth because that would have impaired their abilities to resupply and/or fall back from the frontline areas like Avdiivka. They did have the anti tank obstacles and mines stockpiled and ready to be laid out which they are doing now. Russia is going to regret not pushing hard on the Ukrainians tail when they Ukrainians were falling back from Avdiivka. Instead it gave them at least 2 weeks to rest, reorganize, and prepare for a situation which they have been planning for 9 years.

but right now but I would like a shitload of trench digging equipment and a million mines right now along with those 800,000 artillery shells. That would stop the Russians faster than anything could right now. It’s their turn to try to get through minefields while getting picked off one by one. Send the bodies back by the trainload.

Russia isn’t going anywhere, and the trainloads full of bodies don’t matter to them, and you know that. How many more thousands have to die, before people realize Russia isn’t giving up anything they have taken. People are making money as long as this war continues and those people don’t want it to end.

It will go on as long as the Ukrainians are willing to fight for their country.

If your country was invaded by a neighbor, when would you stop fighting?

Key Takeaways:

A Ukrainian military official confirmed that Russian forces are conducting strikes in Ukraine with improved guided glide bombs.

Russian sources reported that the Russian military command has replaced Admiral Nikolai Yevmenov with Northern Fleet Commander Admiral Alexander Moiseev as Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy.

Russian occupation authorities opened early voting in occupied Ukraine for Russia’s presidential election on March 10 that will last until March 14.

Chechen officials organized a march in Grozny, Chechnya, on March 10 in support of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s candidacy in the upcoming March presidential election.

Over 1,000 civilian ships have transited Ukraine’s “grain corridor” in the Black Sea despite persistent Russian efforts to undermine international confidence in the corridor.

The Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) awarded a state honor to a prominent Russian ultranationalist — who is an active supporter of imprisoned former officer and ardent ultranationalist Igor Girkin — likely as part of an ongoing Kremlin campaign to coopt the critical milblogger community.

Russian forces recently made confirmed advances near Bakhmut and Avdiivka amid continued positional engagements along the entire frontline on March 10.

Prominent Russian ultranationalists praised Russian volunteers and mobilized personnel on March 10, likely to assuage continued concerns among these personnel in spite of their improper and inequal treatment in the Russian military.
