Thank you for the response.

If the war were to end today with the current front lines becoming the new borders, would that be a win for Russia? If not what does a win look like for Russia?

I am curious how old you are, specifically to determine if and how much of your life you lived during the Cold War.

I think it would be interesting to know the age distribution of those supporting Russia and Ukraine.

I suspect that those of us who grew up during the cold war are more likely on the Ukrainian side.

Update from the Russian Rybar channel on Telegram
https://t.me/rybar/38677
quote:

?????????? The situation in the Soledar direction
by the end of September 12, 2022

??PMC Wagner detachments continue to control the intersection in the east of Bakhmut (Artemovsk), hitting firing positions and strongholds of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the city itself and its environs.

??At the same time, the Wagnerites are fighting in the area of ??the Donbasskaya electrical substation, and are also developing an offensive towards Nikolaevka Vtoroy and Otradovka.

??There are no significant changes in the front line in Soledar: clashes on the eastern outskirts of the settlement will be sold.

??Allied forces carried out at least two missile strikes on targets in Konstantinovka. The supply of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the area of ??Bakhmut and Soledar is carried out through this settlement.

??A difficult situation is developing in the Belogorovka area, where the Armed Forces of Ukraine are trying to take the village by storm. Heavy fighting is also taking place in the area of ????Disputed.

In the event that the allied forces lose control over settlements, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive a foothold for an offensive on Severodonetsk, Lisichansk and Kremennaya in order to reach the rear of the group in the LPR.

Meh, for a newsreader, that was toned down. Especially the gals from Moscow, the requirement used to be, very high pitch and talk "Ben Shapiro" fast.

ETA: Most Russian women sound angry all the time.

but some of us know that "aid" will make a long detour through a lot of bank accounts of well connected people.

You say that like you're embedded in the international banking and finance industry.

When in fact you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

The movement has been so fast and decisive that it is difficult to conceptualize where the remaining pockets of Russian resistance are located. There is the general feel, however, that Ukrainian troops can walk into Crimea.

Don’ count your chickens before they hatch.
They may let Ukraine March all the way to Stalingrad and then unleash the Kracken. They have done that before.

Just based on the reports coming from the battlefield, it appears to me that Ukraine has slowed down a bit.

I suspect they are rearming, letting their forces catch their breath, and positioning for the next movement.

Yes, you don’t want to run away from your GLOC.
On the other hand, Russia has to completely reorganize theirs and somehow replenish all the ammo and supplies that they lost.

If I’m a Uke general I’m watching to see where aid and help is coming from and then I’d try to interdict it before it could be put to use. Then I’d hit em in the weak spots.

That's wishful thinking. Based on past experience, the USA will most likely print money and get more involved.

The propaganda put out through US outlets isn't accidental, theres money to be made from our generosity.

If Europe steps up, I'm all for it.

The USA and the EU have seized 300 billion USD worth of Russian assets. I do not really care if Ukraine gets 300 billion USD worth of western aid and we reimburse ourselves by selling the Russian assets, if Russia gets its assets back after peace has been negotiated and has to pay Ukraine reparations using those assets, or if we just transfer those assets to Ukraine and let them liquidate them and pay us back for the lend-lease.

Bro come on, there is absolutely a zero percent chance the USG is getting a dime paid back. You know that

The subdivisions of the Russian occupiers are squeezed on the right bank of the Dnieper and are ready to lay down their arms . They are looking for ways to get in touch with the Ukrainian military.

Natalya Gumenyuk, the head of the Precentre of the Security and Defense Forces of the Operational Command "South", said this on the air of the Espresso TV channel.

"We continue to advance and this movement is quite convincing. It has an impact not only on the geographical advance of enemy positions, but also psychologically. Enemy units, starting reformatting, are looking for opportunities to get in touch with our units in order to conduct so-called negotiations on the conditions for the surrender of weapons and the transition under the auspices of international humanitarian law. They are aware that they are squeezed between the banks of the Dnieper and our forces," she explained.

According to Gumenyuk, the invaders are trying to find ways to save their lives.

"Now this issue is being considered. Because there is an understanding of the military strategy, which involves such measures. They are ready to go under the auspices of international humanitarian law, that is, to replenish the exchange fund," the head of the press center added.

It is starting to look like this Kherson surrender thing might actually happen.

Agreed. I doubt we get anything back but I would much rather spend $100B on setting one of our two major competitors back a few decades than giving $100B to people who take out loans for their gender study degrees or bailing out big banks for their poor decision making.

Do you literally know anything about this conflict at all?

Why he word "literally"? It undermines your question. By including it, the answer to your question is Yes, even if all he knows is that Russia is involved.

You are yet another dumb motherfricker ruining the English language by using words you do not understand. This is not some esoteric point; you are literally (Here is how the word is supposed to be used.) making it harder for the best among us to communicate.
