I need to have a professional quality business headshot photo taken for my profile on my work website. I submitted my passport photo and the website guy said no way, it looked like a mugshot.

Where can I go in Metairie to get a photo taken? I don't need the different poses package and all that. Just a simple photo. I called one photographer business that I know about near my house and they told me they have a $150 minimum charge. Looking for something a little more economical than that.

Look at coworkers photos for similar background. Ie inside/outside etc.

Find friend to take “portrait mode” picture of you in similar attire to your coworkers.

Crop photo and send to them.

What kind of business are you running that has to have a website with your photo on it, but can't afford a one time 150 dollar, probably tax deductible, expense?

Nvm, not your business. Your company won't pay for it? If not, tell em to suck it and use that photo or they don't get one.

Hang up a sheet near some windows in your house, set your phone to portrait mode, take a picture for free.

Without knowing what you do, I promise neither you nor your employer needs that. If they press the issue then tell them to send somebody to take your picture in your office during work hours.

I prefer finding a regular photo of myself outside in natural light and just cropping it. I find the “I’m wearing a suit in an office with my arms crossed and I’m giving you my perfect business smile” as phony/try hard.

That's pretty normal. Portrait photography is just comically, absurdly expensive. They all try to charge CEO glamor shot rates even if you just need a low-res headshot.

Ask your company to pay for it, or find a friend or part time photographer on facebook or nextdoor.

*I'm assuming you're single, otherwise your wife would've already recommended a friend who does "professional quality" photography.

A friend posted about a 'free headshot happy hour' at the Covington Walk-On's on 2/16 from 5-8. I think it's supposed to be for realtors but it would probably be too awkward to tell OP no if he showed up for one.

Tell them to email you the time when the photographer will be on-site taking photos. You'll be sure to have a nice jacket that day.
