Do you embrace battery powered cars or will you use an ICE powered car to the bitter end?

It's coming. The end of R&D by auto manufacturers into improving Internal Combustion Engines (ICE) has already started. Manufacturers announcing they'll be only manufacturing 100% battery powered cars by 2035. Gasoline stations will be disappearing, replaced by charging stations.

Do you embrace this, or are you going to wait until you are faced with no other option, or when gasoline becomes so scarce that it costs $12 a gallon?

Will drive ICE vehicles for the foreseeable future. Battery powered have too many drawbacks for me at this time.

ICE powered car

I filled my truck up with ICE a few days ago, and now it’s running terribly.

They make sense for some, I drive way too much and have too big an area to cover. So I doubt I'll ever buy one. A hybrid makes sense though. I see those catching on in more applications.

I don’t think I’ll ever go all EV. I love ICE cars too much and while ballistically fast, the EV isn’t the track experience I want.

Will probably always have an ICE because the cars I like weren't made with battery technology

Will need some kind of massive breakthrough in battery technology for this to be a legitimate premise. Not saying there won't be, but not enough supply of the materials needed to replace the world's ICE vehicles with electric, given current technology.

My plan is to have both in the near future. But in the end, this will all depend on the price of gasoline. But you covered that in your post. Don't fall on the ICE sword if gasoline prices get ridiculous.

Probably get an EV at some point for a daily driver.

I will stick with ICE for my "fun" cars

It’s going to be a while before the electric grid will be able to support all of the electric cars. And the what happens when a storm like Ida hits. Or a major blizzard hits the Northeast and knocks out power? You are kinda Out of luck.

I also have a bass boat that gets the equivalent of low miles per gallon. I don't know if I can part ways with ICE on the water.

They can announce whatever they want, but until infrastructure and pricing catch up, don’t expect ICE vehicles to go anywhere. I don’t think people are avoiding EV’s because of some ideological reason. It’s based on cost and perceived value. The average consumer is not going to pay a premium for EV’s when a cheaper alternative is there.

I have nothing against electric, but I'm kind of pissed that by the time I will be able to afford a really nice fast car, most will be electric.
