about four metric tonnes of “space junk” – is on course to intersect with the moon at a velocity of about 2.58km/s in a matter of weeks.

Jonathan McDowell, an astrophysicist at Harvard University, wrote that the impact was due on 4 March but was “not a big deal”.

I guess this was bound to happen lunar or later

Until the moon monsters see it as an act of war and retaliate against us.

At least it's not Jeff Bezos's flying phallic rocket. That would be interesting to some Aggie fans.

That’s about 8,800 lbs, and it cost a lot just to get that into orbit.

We've already pelted it with 5 saturn ivb.

We can at least test the hollow moon theory.

This is really nothing new. Back in the late-60's - early 70's the NASA Apollo missions 11 and 12 placed seismometers on the surface of the moon and proceeded to crash all sorts of things into the moon to detect the vibrations. The seismometers also detected the first "moonquakes".

As long as it doesn’t strike the dark side of the moon where the lizard people have a space station they use as a rest stop on the way to Mars.

Now that's a good way to jumpstart the allspark

Need the diameter of the junk to compute the ballistic coefficient of 8,800lbs travelling at 5,800mph (2.58km/s).
That would leave a mark for certain.

Lunar Lives Matter!!!
What about the climate?!!
The moon only gets rockets because it’s white(ish)!!!
Where’s autistic Ingrid?!!!

So the Moon will have a new crater, sounds like that's about the extent of the issue.
