I live in Dallas, but will be in Crowville Saturday and traveling back home Sunday via I20. We are stopping in Shreveport, my hometown. Are there any good grocery stores where I can stock up on crawfish boil spices or pepper purée’s? I can get spices at academy in Dallas, but not the good stuff.

Bergeron’s is the only “Cajun store” I know of around Shreveport, but I think it’s more like prepared foods and ready to cook stuff.

Targill puts together a huge amount of seasonings under a bunch of labels. They will even let you create your own seasoning blends and package it up ready for sale.
It’s located in Opelousas.

Not to be a smart arse, but Opelousas is pretty far south of where he’ll be and not in the direction of where he’ll be returning, so how does this info help the OP? Am I missing something?

Cajun Market in Colleyville, TX probably scratches the itch and you don't have to stop in Shreveport.

In Opelousas they have created a system to ship what you need directly to any address you would like. It’s really cutting edge

I don’t really understand what you’re wanting. Wal-Mart and any grocery store will have most of the common crawfish seasonings (Louisiana, Zat, etc). Some may even carry Chackbay. If you’re wanting some specific specialty seasoning order it online.

I’m not sure what all you’re looking for but I would recommend Tubb’s Hardware in Bossier City at 615 Benton Rd, it’s just about a mile north of I-20, if you’re originally from Shreveport you may be familiar with that area, you take exit 20B to La.3/Benton Rd.
They have a lot of neat stuff and have a Louisiana/Cajun section with quite a few spices, sauces, Mardi Gras stuff. You can check out their website before you go and see what you think, I believe they have a walk through video of the store.
Ralph and Kacoo’s restaurant and Bass Pro Shop/Bossier City Boardwalk are just up the street if you want to eat or shop a little.

There are few places in Dallas that you can get just about everything you are looking for. In Lewisville there is Bayou Market, Colleyville has the Cajun Market (a little pricey) and Fiesta Markets (most of these will have crawfish boil spices and Manda sausage and/or savoie's sausage).

This would be your best bet if you want to stop, but like I said most of the places above will have everything you need.

Yes, you did. The question asked may be over his head.

I agree with Mr. Balls. Most of the regular grocery stores will have boil spices etc... if that's what the OP is looking for.

I’m from the area, went to HS there.

Please tell me more about this cutting edge technology. I'm shocked no one has thought about shipping products to consumers before this.

Late to the part but Monroe is the answer

Capt Avery
Randall’s
Cormiers
Chauvin

All have what you are looking for

I got to Scott La a couple time a year to stock up - I drive in to Monroe a couple times a quarter to stock up on basics and get fresh seas food from Avery

None of these places carry much in the way of crawfish seasoning, and what they do have will be a good bit higher than Brookshires
