lots of folks at that conference hadn't been "involved" at shaw in a long time. looks like those old wounds are healed
What was the real story on what happened back in 2000?

Not so fast. Hank got cleared of all wrongdoing by LHSAa. The hoops coach not so much,
The principal had a vendetta for Hank over asst coach pay and that was the crux w Hank

Will have them winning in 2 years, enrollment back up significantly in 3 years, and east bank teams and Karr & Landry's would-be future rosters will pay the price
Don’t forget John Ehret’s and West Jeff’s… a good Shaw team is Chalmette’s best friend

Their enrollment has hit rock bottom. They are going down to 3A or 2A where they belong.

that a-hole m. begg thought he was gonna turn shaw into the jesuit of the west bank and be an academically driven school but he didnt have the balls to fire hank so he tried to get tommy henry give him the needed ammo. Henry begged him to leave it alone but he didnt and dragged down the best young basketball coach in the state with hank. rest is hostory.

Who was that?

I’m guessing Shyronne

No it was Ike Wilson. Starting qb in 90 season. Got arrested the night before playoff game. Transfered to I believe higgins. Signed with mississppi st. Got murdered during a drug deal in the fisher project

Shyrone was there from 1997-2000. He was fine as a teammate and never got in trouble (that we knew of.) He said early 1990s so I’m guessing he’s saying Ryan Clark based on recent and current stuff.
ETA: I see he meant Ike Wilson

Oh yeah. I remember Ike Wilson. I think he was hooked up with a large West Bank drug dealing family - the Baileys. He probably did more than just buy, sell, and transport. Dude was a thug.
I don’t know what he was doing with the money - he never seemed to have anything of value.

Too bad shaw is leaving the Catholic league. Shaw basketball is becoming a thing again under their young HC
Posted on 1/19/22 at 9:02 am to GynoSandberg
Just down the road from Shaw was John Ehret that was a power house with Jessie Daigle as HC and Ray St. Pierre as DC and then with Ray as the HC. Don’t know about Jessie but Ray is no longer with us but he was a great coach and better person!

He should've won 2 at Ponchatoula (2014 and 2021).

I love hank coming back! I went to Shaw class of ‘13 played under Scott. My dad was class of ‘93 and my uncle was class of ‘98. Both played under Hank and family was close to him. They love him and wanted me to play under him but do to circumstances I could not.
