Because that is their entertainment for the day. Also I believe that some drivers hang around intersections because they want others to see their cars.

Literally happened to me yesterday. The lady at the front of the line had to check a bunch of lotto tickets. Then she asked for grape flavored swisher sweets.

When they didn't have them, she made the clerk go look for some.

Finally he came back without the grape flavor and she settled for something else.

Took at least four minutes.

And, of course, paid with small bills.

Meanwhile it took the four other people in line less then two minutes to get checked out.

It's a social event when most people simply want to stop and go.

I used to drink energy drinks a lot.

I found myself constantly in-line with people buying vapes, cigarates, lottery tickets.

I'm like, I need to stop drinking these things, apparenlty I'm in a real trashy crowd.

My favorite is when they pay at the pump.. get in their car and start talking on the phone or digging around for whatever... I witnessed people get into it when a guy started digging around in his trunk after he payed.. Same thing happens at the drive up ATM... People don't give AF about other people's time...

No clue but you can say the same thing about African Americans and resteraunts of any kind be it drive through or table. They take forever. We eat dinner with my best friend and his wife every month. Same resteraunt, they order the exact same thing and it takes them forever to order.

When I was a teacher, I noticed this too. There was no sense of urgency with the poorer kids. It kind of redpilled me and made me a little less liberal leaning.

Bc they 90% of the trash that they waste their money on is at the counter, so it’s their only time to “browse”.
