Why would you not also pass them on public land ?
I was following the rules of the landowner. They were nice 2.5 year old bucks that I'd have been tickled with. I've never killed a "big" deer before. Let plenty of smaller bucks walk on public but ground meat is too expensive for that now.

Good i see.
Ground meat is my most used cut.
Mid December i made 28 pounds myself.
74% deer
26% brisket
Talk about good !
Actually i used a 1/3 cup measurer. 1 brisket, 3 deer. About 8 or 9 packs I
put a lil more brisket and marked the pack.

I usually only kill one a year, if I see a nice one.
I feed 10-12 does daily I know of (they come twice a day) and numerous others at night.
For some reason I don't eat deer meat as much as I used to

Two young arse bucks- a spike and a 4 point
A couple of questionable does- didn’t get a chance to study them much, may have been button bucks
Odds are I will end the season with nothing. All doe days are over and I’d pass on those bucks again if I see them

Same here. I usually make roasts and such from the first deer of the year then after that I'm grinding everything but the backstrap and the rounds.

Only saw two off the stand this year and my son shot one of them. My biggest disappointment is the lack of deer sighting on the property I purchased. Plenty of sign just never see them during shooting hours.

Two.
Passed on a spike, and shot a doe.
ETA: Sorry, I could have killed two total, but I passed on one. So I killed one.

More than I have the desire to clean or freezer space to store.

No legal deer seen this season. 2 spotted fawns in the rice bran back in October. Worst season ever and the ducks don’t want to play fair also.

I remember in Alabama back in the nineteen sixties that if you killed a deer in a season you were considered a great hunter if you saw a half dozen in a season it was a good year.
I’m 45yr old and I started hunting when I was 6-7 and was bow hunting at 8-9 with a bear mini mag bow draw weight 35 pounds . I can remember kisatchi nat forrest and getting all excited cus we saw a deer track . If we saw two or three sets it warranted a hunt. Hunted for several yrs without shooting a deer then got to go hunt with my grandpa and uncle in a lease in Alabama in 86/87 and saw more deer than I had ever thought possible. Killed 7 in one week (club had 300 doe tags to fill)

I really can’t tell you. Passed an 18” 8 pt this morning with short tines. Looked to be a 3 yr old. Maybe he survives and gets bigger.

Went out a handful of times during Thanksgiving and Christmas vacation.. Saw a two-year old buck (4-point) over thanksgiving. Thought I'll let it grow another year and wait for something bigger. Never saw another thing. Would let it walk again, but disappointed I didn't get any meat.
