It's amazing how shitty the management and overall business scheme of Popeyes is and yet they are still around haha

I used to work in the overpass area of Baton Rouge. Sometimes, we’d order lunch from George’s. One of the ladies would always say get cocktail sauce. Every time I’d ask for it, they would tell me “we don’t have cocktail sauce, but we can give you the ingredients to make it.”

Always laughed at a restaurant telling me that . Taking ingredients and making it into the product for customers is kind of the whole job

9/10 times you cam go to the store and grab something. For my franchise, and a lot of others, it is a breech of the franchise agreement to do that though. I swear it has happened to me with a franchise director in town on more than one occasion. It is an issue when it comes to liquor though. I can't get crown and patron in on a regular basis. It is actually illegal for me to go to the store and pick it up for me to sell on premise. Most places don't give a shite. Who does? fricking Total Wine

Went to Popeyes in central Arkansas a few weeks ago, and they were out of just about everything important to their menu.

-Bread

-All the dipping sauces other than blackened ranch, cocktail, and honey mustard

-Chicken breasts for sandwiches (still had fingers and nuggets)

-The only sides they had were fries and mashed potatoes

And they also had the dining room closed, so my work partner and I went through the drive through. Normally when we have to drive through, you simply tell the employee "I have two separate orders" and they say something like "okay, go ahead with the first"

The black dude working the drive-thru in this instance literally replied "nah, I'm not doing separate orders today. I'm not doing that." My partner is a little more outspoken than me, and he said "why?!? Can't you just pretend we're in separate cars, or do i need to order, back up, then pull right back up to the speaker and pretend to be another car?"

Employee guy responded, and I shite you not, "whatever you gotta do man, I'm not doing separate orders today"

We ended up just driving off after we heard everything they were out of. We both just wanted a spicy chicken sandwich, but they were out of all of the components other than pickles. I'll never go back to that place

That's weird because the same thing happened to me and it was probably around the same time frame. I just remember thinking how the hell can you call yourself Burger King and run out of frickin hamburgers?

quote:

In college (over 20 years ago) I worked at a hotel next door to a Burger King.

One day they were out of all burgers (regular and whopper), chicken patties, fries, and cheese.

I asked them what they could make... they said chicken nuggets and onion rings, basically.

Same thing happened to me here in Houma some years back. BURGER king completely out of all BURGERS.

Seems to be a theme.

In college I went to Burger King near LSU's campus and ordered some chicken tenders, and she says "We're out of meat." So I said oh okay, that's fine, I'll take a cheeseburger instead. And she said "No, we're out of all meat. No chicken, burgers, etc."

I asked her what they could give me and she said a fish sandwich or something like that.

And yet they still had 175 mostly similar items left to choose from.

Nasty arse restaurant in Miami was out of soap in the bathroom. Told the staff cause I wanted to wash my hands (whatever I order I was gonna be eating by hand). They said they were out completely, no hand sanitizer, nothing. Guess employees weren’t washing their hands that week either

Normally I would blame the restaurant for oversight, but it is insanely difficult to procure items right now for an extensive menu. Many of the large scale national suppliers and manufacturers are getting hit hard with supply issues, labor, and transit. If you can’t see that, you’re neither the brightest nor sharpest crayon in the box.

Also, simple items such as packaging are being hit hard and increasing in price at an alarming rate.

I went to a place supposedly well-known in the area for breakfast and brunch. You have to make a reservation and they will charge you a fee for missing your timeslot.

They had no milk. WTF?

It a crazy one, but when that Tilted Kilt place in Gonzales was fairly new I went there for lunch and to watch LSU baseball (regional or CWS).
So it’s like 11:30 and they are out of fried and wings.
Someone Thursday or early Friday should have taken their asses to Sams or something and gotten some fries.
