Anyone on a sober streak?

I’m nearly 9 weeks drinking only all water/coffee. No booze/mixers the entire time and the longest I’ve gone in 10+ years. I’ve never felt better.

Streaking when you’re sober isn’t very fun.

Well, It's been 10 years or more since I drank more than 2 beers or shots in a month. Not that I can't or don't drink but very little.
I used to drink like a fish. It just slowly changed for me personally.

We're really proud of you.

Beautiful. Really great for you :)
Opposite for me. New Years need to hurry and pass.

Gave it up December 16, 2020. Was ruining my life. No way in hell did I think at that time that I could make it this far, but here I am. Hands down the best decision I've made in a loooong time. I had tried to put it down for other people dozens of times and it never stuck. When I finally wanted it, it stuck.
I have no problem with other people drinking, and honestly wish I could do it in a controlled fashion, but we are like fire and gasoline.
I don't do AA but did some voluntary group sessions after about 4 months dry that seemed to help.
Biggest thing I wish someone had told me is that the withdrawal symptoms can be a bitch and can pop up unexpectedly months down the road. Look up post-acute withdrawal syndrome or PAWS. I was at 15-18 drinks/day when I hung it up so your previous consumption patterns will heavily impact your withdrawal.
Inexplicable emotional outbursts, irritability, depression for 3-4 days at a time. Haven't had one in almost 4 months now, but man those were hell.
I was scared it would be this big thing with my friends and family, but no one seems to care that I don't drink.
ETA: lost around 25lbs since I stopped, stopped snoring entirely, no more gall bladder pain, and my memory has increased noticeably. I drink a lot of coffee, la croix and NA beer. My way isn't for everyone, so if you're doing something that works, more power to you.

I take a break every year for the week leading up to the Dallas marathon since our company runs a relay. Taking another after the holidays to prep for the 3M Half-Marathon

I did a sober stretch last week, Sunday to Friday.
Wasn’t impressed.

Yeah I feel your pain on that. To damn hell with "having a couple of drinks". I'd say I'm like the Drugs Delaney of alcohol: When everyone else has one, I have two. Buddy wants to "have a beer" after work, no thanks, I'll take a double Bourbon and water. Always hate the next day though...."oh hell, what kind of shite did I talk last night??"

I've been sober for about a full 2 weeks now.
Then that steak will end on Christmas. Streak will end even more on New Years.
I don't drink often, no more than 2-3 times a month. But when I do drink, I get drunk, really fast.
In all honesty, kudos to you. Keep up the great work. I hope you're around people who support you and hold you and your sobriety accountable.

It may be that my older brother died of Cirrhosis at 45 on December 26, 2000 . It wasn't pretty seeing the deterioration and the end. It struck me hard and I'd love to talk to him.
Like I said, just don't drink much.

Do you mind if I ask your age?
I can see putting down 15-20 beers in a day spent mostly outside. But I'm pretty sure I don't have the energy or stamina to do that multiple days in a row. And forget about 15-20 drinks of liquor. Maybe back in college, but not after the age of 30 or so. Well, definitely not after 40.

My last drink was in August 2003. More than 18 years ago.
Prior to that I was a moderately heavy drinker. Mostly wine and imported beer.
