Ours were girls as well. Consider not having first names begin with same letter. We had a lot of issues with insurance thinking there were duplicate bills for samefirstinitial samelastname.
If a relative can come help in the beginning that would be great. Generally takes two for feedings (at least in the beginning) - so assuming you’re working it will help you to get some sleep.
Y’all will survive - ours are 23 and are fine young ladies. They are also each other’s best friend.

Hardest part is when they start walking. Bad enough with one, but now they can double team you. One of them holds up the gate so the other one can crawl under it.
Or they run in opposite directions when there's only one of you.
Dad of four here, it finally dawned on us- they could form a justice league and mutiny and we will be effed

Twin dad here and the babies are 5 weeks old. I have been told by the wife (no pics) that I need to do more. Prepare to hear that regularly. That's all I got.

My twins are turning 7 in February. I hit the jackpot and got one of each. One and done.
Couple of things that kept us sane:
- We had in-law help for the first year. Either my mom, her mom, or her grandmother were here during the week 5 times a week to help out. We were able to sustain that for a year and save a ton of $$ on childcare. Yes it sucked because of all the ppl in the house but the 1:1 ratio sucks more.
- We found it very helpful to keep them on the same schedule. If Baby A wakes up to eat, wake up Baby B. Found we got more sleep that way.
- My wife found a twin mom group on FB. As dumb as it sounds, they actually were a lot of help. They would drop off food every now and then and the wife wound up making some good connections that could give her better support than I could. We found our baby sitter through the group, too. I wound up being a good support system for the first year. We wound up staying in the group a hand full of years to pass on the good karma.
- Get into a routine and don't break it. EVER.
- Whatever baby widget you think you need... you don't. just put it into diapers.
- Have fun. They grow up fast and you'll never get the time back. You'll blink, they're 7, and you'll wonder where those years went.

My boys aren't twins, but I can only imagine what it's like with 2 once they go mobile at the same time

A good friend had La.'s first quints, then had an "oops baby" a year later. As in 6 under the age of one year old. Just saying...........do the math on those diapers!

After they are born, kiss the next year goodbye from a social standpoint. Too tough to manage.
You will have to help a bunch in the first year or so but after that it is pretty awesome. Twins can be among the most competitive people on earth so prepare for that.
Bonus is if you have a single afterwards. A single is not 50% easier...its like a 1000% easier. I hardly had to get up and help with the second birth, we were so well trained that the wife could manage everything easily.

Dad of 3, I find this inaccurate. The first 8 or so months is a breeze in my opinion. They eat, sleep, shite. That's pretty much it. Of course you lose some sleep but we did everything we normally do with our third who is now 1.5.
You just have to be prepared. We pack like it's the end of the world to go do things. We pack a cooler for bottles/milk just to go to my older kids softball games etc.

The first year is brutal. Just get on a schedule and do not get off of it. We got two of the plastic play pins and put matting down when they started crawling. If anyone wants to get you anything ………. Diapers. Onesies with zippers no snaps. Layer multiple sheets and pee/throw up proof ones so at 3 am you can just strip a layer and it’s ready to go.
Get a baby breeza (sp?) it helps big time.
Mine are 6….. it’s been a lot of fun. They crack me up. Take as many videos and pics as you can. Good luck.

Luckily my wife has 6 months of maternity leave
Schedule a meeting with a labor attorney ASAP to determine if that is 6 months per pregnancy or per child
No twins, but meal prep now like there is no tomorrow. Get a bunch of those plastic quart sized containers and either pre-cook meals so you can drop in a pot of microwave, or pre-mix meals to drop in a crock pot. Have the freezer loaded and ready to go
Preplan the clothes the night before so you aren;t trying to change diapers/PJs and find something to wear.
Make sure the diaper bags are always packed. You will always forget something, but it you repack it once you get home the items you forget will never be diapers, wipes, change of cloths, pacifiers....
Always have snacks nearby, and for girls have hair bands and clips everywhere in the house. Not an issue early on, but one their hair is long enough they will eat there hair during every meal.

When they start walking, and they go in opposite directions, always go to the one first that may be in harms way... It’s a learning experience, you’ll figure it out...
Good luck....
Mine are 12 now, boy and girl, and they’re at the age where my boy aggravates the shite out of his sister...
My wife gets pissed at me because he does it.... I’m like he’s a 12 y/o boy, it comes with genetics....

Just need to understand that their capabilities are multiplied...its not just two kids.
For example, for my first kid (not a twin), I could easily place something out of reach no problem. When the twins came, they would team work...like one will climb on the other etc and can get that object you thought was out of reach.
Free tip: a double bowl kitchen sink makes an excellent bath for twins.

Dad of 10 week old twins and a 20 month old.
Schedule and routine are most important. If one is hungry feed both. Ours are starting to sleep all night thankfully. Twins honestly aren’t that bad, but when you throw the 20 month old in the mix it becomes too much for 1 person to handle for long periods of time.
