re: How does the OT feel about Botox?

I didn't pick the wrong person in anything. You are trying to tell me what defines me as a man. Then telling me that because your husband thought sex was DAMN important every man does? I'm not saying I don't enjoy sex with my wife but I can think of a hundred things I would rather share my time with my wife doing than sex...Sorry.

I just keep going back to our ancestors. I know that if they knew a berry or mushroom was poisonous they damn sure wouldn't boil it down, take the juice, and inject it under their skin for funsies.
They may have tried it for syphilis, but the first time someone's dick fell off and their nuts shriveled up like raisins they'd probably stop.

according to some posters in this thread, if it made them "feel beautiful" they sure the shite would have.

You're one hand saying it's my fault and let her get botox
No...I am not saying "let her get Botox" I am saying stop trying to prevent her. She doesnt need your approval or permission but you acting like an arse about it will only cause a wedge that isnt worth it. You want her to feel great but you're making her feel like shite.
I am also not saying it's your fault, I am saying you play a bigger part than you're leading on here that you want to acknowledge.
quote:You need to do both. You need to support your wife's desires, passions and wants and separate them from your desires, passions and wants. AND you also need to make sure that every day your wife knows that you support her, that you love her and think she is gorgeous and you don't think she NEEDS the Botox but if she wants it, you support her in that decision and you don't have to agree that she needs it but you know that because she does you'll stand behind her and stop trying to make her see things your way.
in the next paragraph you say how we should work on the reason she wants to get it rather than let her get it. Make up your mind please.
This is not coming from a way of judgement towards you my friend, I am generally trying to help you here. She obviously already feels bad about something for wanting this and it maybe isn't that big of a deal and I can bet the last thing she wants is for you to make her feel worse about it. And for what...to save a few bucks? Just because you don't "agree"? You're going to love her no matter what. You will still think shes beautiful and the emotional threat that you may not isn't going to help you out here.

You asked how the OT felt and now you’re melting about the answers you don’t agree with

Age gracefully. This his how He made us. I am against cosmetic procedures.

What happens when people ask questions looking for validation rather than exploration.

You do you, let her do her. My wife gets it, no big deal at all. Not like getting your lips injected to look like a duck.
This. I think it’s a waste of money, but whatever.

and you don't think she NEEDS the Botox
This is the base of my discussion every time the topic comes up. She does not need it. I also never said that I didn't play a part in why she wants it. If you go look at my replies to others I specifically say I should work on telling her MORE often than I do now that she is beautiful. Also said that there is another underlying problem.
I've even asked her to talk with me more on why and that there has to be another reason besides "just to get the wrinkles away". I'm never mean or crude about it either because it's a sensitive subject for her.
In the end you're right I will love her no matter what..but that doesn't mean I cannot voice my concerns in a marriage that we are 50/50 on...

No one is melting except for the paragraphs telling me how much of a POS I am for having the opinion that she shouldn't and doesn't need it LOL
Posted on 12/21/21 at 9:56 am to LSUfan4444
I’d be willing to bet about 70% of upper middle and upper class women over 40 have at least tried it
Posted on 12/21/21 at 9:56 am to Tacktheritrix
Botox ain’t bad if you don’t go overboard. It’s that big lip shite that looks so bad. I agree with you though, I think we should embrace our age and wrinkles.

yea, this is my thing Celery. I agree with that. No other rhyme or reason why except we should embrace that we do age. It's a part of life.

100% against it, just age gracefully. She wants to get rid of wrinkles but will end up getting rid of all facial expressions at the same time

Are there any negative side effects of getting that many? I know you said it was for migraines and that it worked but has she has any other issues since taking so many injections?
No side effects noted so far. Sometimes it's only required to have one set, sometimes two or three sets. After the 2nd set he triggered a headache at the occipital area of her neck since she has occipital neuralgia. The BoTox injections are sub-q injections and not real bad.
As far as allergic reactions or anything like that? None. So far it's been the only thing to work with any kind of certainty that insurance will actually work with us on. They quit paying for the Ubrevlvy and the Nurtec had some bad side effects. Aimovig never worked.

Not going to lie, that is one scary statement. There are hundreds of things I love to do with my wife, but if I am choosing just one, it is sex.
Intimate relations between a Woman and Man are the actual foundations of life as we know it. It is biblical in its importance.
At this point you are just trying to talk your way out of this, because the issue is with you and you have no care for what your spouse wants or needs.

Pretty much spot on.

Agree with the OP. Just age gracefully because in my opinion, there is nothing sadder than an old fart trying desperately to hold on to their youth through plastic surgery, Botox injections, spray on makeup that is so thick you wind up looking plastic and even hair dying for some folks.
Nothing sillier than a pasty white skinned person in their 70's with jet black hair. There was once such a guy that shopped at Rouses on Carrollton Ave. a few years back----humped over, skin so thin and white it looked like rice paper, but sported jet black hair on his head with silver eyebrows.

Okay thanks for the info.
Glad that this does work to eliminate the migraines. Medically speaking, I'm sure it has helped so many people prevent and become proactive against the migraines and neck spasms.

Why do you get to be the deciding factor on that?
Are all of her permissions you grant based solely on necessity? Do you both drive a piece of shite vehicle to get you purely from ___ to ____ because you don't NEED anything else? Do you not go on vacation because..well, you just don't need to. Do you not play golf, hunt, fish, have any hobbies? Do you never go see movies? Go out to eat?
Maybe consider that people do things all the time that they don't need because it makes them happy and you don't let your wife dictate to you what you need so maybe don't do the same to her.
We're not talking about breast implants. We're not talking about gastric bypass/sleeve. We're not talking about a tummy tuck. We're not talking about a 6 month yoga retreat in Dubai. This isn't that big of a deal.

That you can unquestionably make worse by this taking this stance. You need to consider that. Consider your role more.

Doesnt sound anything close to 50/50
Sounds like you don't want to "let" her do things she wants if you don't agree.
