Address the supply chain issues, labor shortage, opioid epidemic, our crappy educational system, CNN BS, etc... first.

“why tf does Congress care? “

Same reason they care about anything, they want their cut.

Well, forgive me for experiencing a certain joy at the coming Ragnarok among retard Democrats which will ensue.

Bill Pascrell steals a lot more money every year than Brian Kelly earns, so there is that.

Cliff notes:

Federal government is big mad that universities are paying coaches huge salaries and not getting the tax revenue they think they deserve.

Should be pretty easy responses to these questions to educate congress own how LSU football Bank rolls the university and how the vast majority of the coach's contract pay is not his public salary but private funds

A solid response should make them look pretty foolish. Id respond and plaster that response all over the internet

I've been pleasantly surprised and wrong about President Tate so far. Really like the man.

The party of Jim Crow is trying to bully the black LSU president and is also butthurt that two black coaches (Tucker and Franklin) received huge contracts.

You didn't hear a peep out of this racist asshat when white coaches like Jimbo and Nick got paid.

USC is a private school, why is it even the government's business?

What about Michigan State? THey're a public state college too and they gave Mel Tucker a fully guaranteed 95 million contract, Brian Kelly is only guaranteed 90% unless he wins a title, and has proven far more than Tucker has over his career so his contract is far more justified

Most of this is private money. Congress has no business sticking their nose into this.

Just political grandstanding to take eyes off just how bad our government is functioning

Frick politicians. Every one of them is nothing but a crook. I have NO IDEA why people worship them these days and will fight their friends and family over their preference in arse hat

When congress starts spending our tax money responsibly then they can question how others spend theirs...

If it is ok for Congress to generate $30T of debt and pass $5T spending bills that are unpaid for, why are taxes required?

This is just political grandstanding. The dollars for coaches' contracts with the athletic department do not come from tax dollars at a state or federal level. They come from athletic department special fundraising and athletic foundations. And congressmen already know this. This is just some jackwad trying to look like he cares about something.

How about we dig further into congressional salaries and the history of their pay raises ... because all of those DO come out of taxpayer dollars.
