Seems like that should have been done before he hired them.

Saban part deux.

Some guys just can't coach at the highest level.

Saban had, at least, had a very successful career in the NFL.

I think 2021 was Meyer's first time on an NFL sideline

They’ve looked better this year than they have the last 2 and are gonna close the season with a few wins. Probably compete for the division next year.

Lol. They are 2-10. They aren't going to compete for anything next year and he won't be there.

I mean I feel like this is just who Urban Meyer is. You have to know you are going to be working for an insufferable maniac going in.

Truth. You can’t be the GOAT without a Lombardi.

Comments like that is a sure way that no good respectable coach is going to want to join that coaching staff.

I’m not sports psychologist, but I’d say a losing record coupled with getting caught finger blasting a coed at your bar after a loss tends to be bad for team morale.

Boring,

The losing record yes, but you really think a bunch of “multi-millionaire 20 somethings” give a shite what another grown man does sexually? I’d bet money most of them got laid that same night.

On one hand this shite sounds horrendous and would be fireable.

On the other hand, the NFL media has had it out for him since day negative one, and this is all "sources say" bullshite.

Texas is going to the SEC. Urban won’t be jumping into that fire.

Didn’t he assemble the staff or parts of it? If so that’s not a good look, defend their resumes to the guy that hired them?

Dearest Covington,

The subsequent media circus was a locker room distraction.

Leaders (should) lead by example, and while you’re absolutely right that crushing pussy is business as usual for everyone in the NFL (except Carl Nassib, apparently), I’d venture to guess that most of them don’t turn it into a public spectacle like total fricking amateurs.

Urban owes Jon Gruden and Henry Ruggs for taking the media heat off him relatively quickly.

ETA: I hand picked some coaching staff names I recognized:

Charlie Strong (AHC): on staff for 3 national championship teams + a 2013 Sugar Bowl victory

Darrell Bevell (OC): Super Bowl winning OC in Seattle where he beat the piss out of the Broncos

Joe Cullen (DC): no championships, but put together some filthy defenses in Cleveland, Tampa, and Baltimore

Nick Sorensen (ST): on the same Seahawks staff as Bevell

All said and done, if Urban can’t get that group to produce then chances are that he’s the issue.

Urban walked into basically the same situation at Jacksonville that Kliff Kingsbury walked into at Arizona. I actually like this Jags roster quite a bit more than what the Cards had in 2019.

Just comparing their year one's so far, Coach bro is far better. I'd like to compare their year 3's, If Urban even makes it to year 3.
