My dad ran out of gas mowing the lawn and gave me a plastic milk gallon jug and told me to go get gas on my bike.

i filled it up and put it in my backpack and about halfway home the jug dissolved and soaked me in gasoline. that shite burned!

honestly surprised my dad survived the night with my mom. i remember her putting me under a cold water hose while my dad was inspecting the milk jug to see if there was any gas he could salvage.

i know someone else on here has some good dad stories.

My dad would sit me down on Saturday's and give me articles on financial responsibility and make me write papers on it.

I knew the lines of games when I was 7 or 8. I assumed everyone’s dad gambled.

My dad made me an Auburn fan. I'll never forgive him.

Every summer my dad would order a truck load of sand to be dumped in our yard and instruct me to distribute the sand to the "low spots" in the yard. I'd spend the next couple days shoveling sand into a wheelbarrow and finding low spots and smoothing sand over them with a rake.

Somehow...there were always low spots every year.

He would have Scruffy clean out his shed, then purposely dirty it again so that Scruffy would have to clean it again.

It was a never ending cycle.

My dad convinced me we had an escaped convict living in my tree house in the backyard, but it was cool because he would always go out grocery shopping just after the news ended so it was then safe enough for us to go play ball in the backyard.
He made me do some pretty funny/fricked up things when I was older as well, but I look back and laugh the most at how much he used our trust of adults to frick with us when we were little

1 day he got tired of raising chickens for eggs and decided to use them for a different kind of meal.
My job was to hold the headless chickens up by their legs after he chopped the head off, to allow them to bleed out and not mess up the meat by running around headless (apparently pumping adrenaline into the muscles or something?)

Those frickers flapped around and moved all kinds of crazy while spewing blood from their necks.

I thought it was awesome at the time but if I did that with my son now, my wife would freak the f out.

One night after having a little too much to drink he had the bright idea that he'd take me and my friend at the time outside to attempt to shoot the moon out of the sky with a shotgun Wasted two perfectly good boxes of shells

My old man pulled up to a median on Airline Highway, and had me jump out the car and grab a David Duke for Governor sign so we could put it in our yard.

He had me working on the brakes on the car stating when I was about 13. They always worked so I guess it wasn't that crazy. However, adult me didn't let my son work on brakes until he was 17.

Convinced me that “Bank Walkers” lived along the Tensas River so I wouldn’t go close to the water at night when I was a kid.

Scared the crap out of me.

Put up a basketball goal and then became totally engrossed in shooting baskets while we stood around and watched.

What sort of milk jug did he give you? When I was a kid we used old milk jugs for lawnmower gas and never had one dissolve. I don’t think we had an actual gas can until I was almost a teenager.

We lived in a house right next to a farm and my Dad would have me help him trap skunks for the farmer, bring them down to the river nearby, and dump them in.

Gave me a big arse dip of Skoal driving back from a fishing hole. I was like 9. Barfed all over the back seat. He unbolted that whole back seat and had it airing out on the back porch for weeks

Had a flat on the boat trailer on our way to the camp at Toledo. Had forgotten the trailer spare at home about 20 miles away. He left me sitting in the boat guarding our shite with a filet knife. I was probably 11.
