What a fricking masterpiece. I don’t know why I had never watched it before but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

LD was an awesome actor and his wife chick was smokin hot

Matthew McConaughey was funny as hell when they were having their first lunch

I love movies that are kind of real, kind of far fetched and filthy. I’m giving this movie an A+ which I don’t hand out A+’s lightly when it comes to movies and TV shows

I love it. My favorite scene is when Jordan’s dad comes into his office yelling about the company credit card statements

“The IRS they allow for T&A”

I just started it on Netflix, but the 3 hour run time took me by surprise. I hope it’s worth it.

The most gif-able movie in the past decade for me.

Not sure if this falls under petty gripes

But one of my complaints with the movie has always been talking down to the viewer

When explaining ratholes or anything involving financial loopholes the movie always starts the conversation but then deduces that the audience is too stupid to track or follow along

This has been a recent trend with other movies as well and it just always annoys me

It's a very entertaining movie but not one of Scorseses best

I recently rewatched it on Netflix. Is there a director’s cut out there, because I thought I remembered a couple of things that I didn’t see this time. I thought I remember Jordan banging the aunt after the park scene.

I think that was done on purpose. Jordan Belford was represented as smug and arrogant and it plays well into his character to try to explain something but realize the audience may not get it or doesn’t care to learn.

Wolf of Wall Street was a great watch the first time and gets better on subsequent viewings imo. It’s also arguably Leo’s best performance and could have easily won him an Oscar.

McConaughey won that year for Dallas Buyer’s Club which was also great.

I feel like Leo should have multiple Oscars. He should have won for The Aviator, Wolf of Wall Street, and Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.

There was no director's cut...you must of dreamed this...but I do like how you dream!

quote:

Audiences are unlikely to ever see the four-hour edit as Scorsese has a pretty firm policy about treating the released version of his film as the final version. “The director’s cut is the film that’s released — unless it’s been taken away from the director by the financiers and the studio,” he told EW. “Sometimes [a director says], “I wish I could go back and put it all back together.” All these things happen … But I do think once the die is cast, you have to go with it and say, ‘That’s the movie I made under those circumstances.'”
