For all of its downfalls and shitty government the people are just better down here. And I also hate the cold which helps the cause

Not really if you're from there. We all have a homebase. I wouldn't live there but a lot of folks wouldn't live in Arkansas either but I can't fathom living anywhere else. Travel away? Yes. Move away? Probably never. I would consider Florida when I'm old but still don't think I'd leave Arkansas.

Outside of the government bullshite and problems in a few of the bigger cities... Louisiana is awesome. Hunting, fishing, sports, people are self reliant, hard working, family oriented etc... what's not to like.

It's weird that you would start a thread asking if it's weird.

I think most people on this board do, which is why so many complain about how shitty it has (is) become (becoming)

Y'all done did it now.

This is like a bright light attracting moths to all the self-haters who are going to come in here and trash Louisiana. But then make excuses when asked why they don't move.*

*Exact same people by the way who scream "move if you don't like it!!!" every time someone complains about the USA.

Insurance
Litter
Education
Culture of poverty

Life is often better once you escape LA. Few actually leave, even fewer come back. There’s a reason for that.

Outside of my friends, I don’t like a lot of the folks in Louisiana. Like you said, the shitty politicians and criminals for starters.

Many faults with Louisiana but from outsiders that move or visit I have been told so many times how nice we are and how good the food is.

Arkansas is pretty nice. Kind of cold for my old bones but I loved Fayetteville when I went last year for the first time. Hope to go back.

idk… This board HATES Louisiana. It’s still a pretty good place to live if you have an upper middle class income.

I love it too. Unfortunately I doubt I'll ever return aside from a short visit now and then.

Just for the people? Because the roads, overall cleanliness, amount of things to do, etc is better in just about every other state.

Well a disproportionate amount of people on this board complain about it so I mean really not that crazy of a question. But having lived in 3 different states there really isn’t a noticeable difference in quality of life and I’d rather not be surrounded by miserable Yankees. But I do agree that parts of Florida would definitely be ideal to live in.

Before long, Blackrock might own everything except Louisiana and Mississippi.

Not at all. We live in Fort Lauderdale, and it's great. But it's never felt like home. I miss a smaller town with less noise, crime, etc. But, we don't have kids and I travel a lot, so wife doesn't want to go to a suburb and I compromise with South Florida.
