It’s all about selling the program. Deion has quality assistant coaches. Prime is no dummy. He says all of the right things about His program and his opponents. He loves God and wants to promote closeness to his players like a father figure. He appeals to young kids who want to feel cared for. That’s exactly what a coach should do. Hell…I am 55 years old and I would like to be around Prime for a month or two. Sanders personality is infectious.

In the end, it’s about making plays on the field and can Colorado build a roster like an Ohio state or Alabama or Georgia ? That’s the Prime question.

I'd be very interested to see if Mike Vrabel could work at Ohio State. Dude is a leader of men, has great defensive coaching skills, but I seriously doubt he could coddle enough to be a good recruiter.

Let's see what Deion does today with Oregon and the rest of the season. Next year he'll lose his elite QB and almost certainly lose his elite OC who was the best offseason hire in college football. Definitely give Deion credit for that but he's going to have to find another one. One thing we know about even the best CFB coaches, when you start having to replace great coordinators it can get dicey if you don't make the right hire

College coaching or a head coach in college I should say has really hardly little to do with the x and o's or acumen as you said, it much more deals with the overall managing or delegation of the program more than anything, they are basically a general manager. Someone like Prime is really great for that role because he knows how to handle people and finesse them into doing what he wants them to do with his great charisma and all. A college head coach wears many hats from managing as I said to being a charming recruiter with players and their parents, managing his staff to see that they're doing their jobs, managing the players and every issue that comes up with them, scheduling meetings all of the time with staff, boosters, players, fans, etc., and I can go and on, but you get it.

Ed O had this model first be the figure head ceo. This works as long as you keep bringing good coaches onto the staff. Once the ceo like Miles or O starts to try to dictate style to the oc and dc it falls apart.

This method is nothing new. Hell dabo had made people think he is a great coach off it. The man is basically a wr coach and cheerleader. He is good at recruiting and overall team build. He had elite oc and dc that handled the schemes
