Did the 2018 and 2019 thrashing of Georgia cause the 2-point conversion?

Kirby doesn’t have any animosity with Kelly, not that I believe. Given that we aren’t rivals, rarely play, and understanding that Georgia had firmly locked up the #1 seed, do you believe that by thoroughly embarrassing them in back-to-back years caused Kirby to run it up? Spare me from his explanation (meaning, we look at the chart/analytic).

I'm more annoyed at their player getting away with a blatant targeting. That's on the SEC though, not Kirby.

The coordinator in the booth tells it all. I don't know what that backstory was but I've never seen a booth so fired up over a 2 point conversion when you are already up 4 scores in the 4th qtr. Weird. Analytics is b.s. - I agree w that. Is what it is. Insult to injury for sure....

It really made no sense for them to go for two. Not even in 2018 nor 2019 did LSU do anything close to running up the score. If you are so much of a baby that getting handled twice in a row 3-4 years ago that you feel the need to “run up the score” on a completely different set of players and coaches wearing the same uniforms...

Maybe that is a play they were wanting to use all season, but didn't get the opportunity to do it. Maybe that formation/play has a counter to it and they wanted to get it on film for their opponents to prepare for in the CFP. Maybe there was some sort of internal reason for running it. Who knows? And it's not that big of a deal.
If it somehow provides some internal source of motivation for LSU in the offseason then the 2 points were well worth it (though I don't get the sense Kelly is the kind of HC who worries about that external motivation all that much)

They had a ton of blowouts. They had many opportunities to use it.
Even though it was a 20-point win, I think LSU exposed some things about their D for playoff teams. LSU successfully passed downfield all game. For 2 QBs to throw for 200+ yards in a half of play is pretty significant. If you stay away from throwing near the line of scrimmage against UGA, you can have success. LSU proved that by setting a new SEC Championship record for passing yards.

Tenn with all their offensive gurus and their high powered machine didn’t come close to moving the football like we did the whole game.

Needless to say, if they did, I will gladly trade the two wins for a meaningless 2-pt conversion in a 20 point game.
