Safe adds: Additions that couldn't possibly be mistakes

If the SEC adds _______ it wouldn't possibly hurt the SEC.
The Texas + Texas A&M package
Florida State
Miami
Georgia Tech
I think that literally anything else could turn out to be a bit of a dud, but the four items listed above are at least safe (ie, nothing is diluted).

I'd include the Oklahoma rumor in there as well. I can't see how adding them would hurt.

Florida will whine and complain if Miami or FSU is added.

I disagree with this statement if you include Miami in there.

Miami could be a dud. Texas could figure out a way to destroy yet another conference and leave it in a smoldering husk.

GT brings nothing to the table.

given UT's history of fricking with conferences, that seems pretty risky for the SEC with their current leadership position in college football

neither Miami or Ga. Tech is a "safe add".
Miami- no fan base and a lot of apathy in a market the SEC already has great exposure.
Ga. Tech- A middle of the road program that will always be a middle of the road program in a market dominated by the SEC already.

2009-2010
BCS in football
NCAA tournament
national seed in baseball tournament
not a lot of schools did better than that last year

irrelevant. the tv market gain will be nothing. uga owns the state and city of atl tv wise.

I like the combo of A&M and FSU to the west and Clemson and Va Tech to the east. 4 strong football programs, with name recognition and passionate fan bases, that already have built in rivals inside the SEC.

I think we would be ok with FSU and block Miami.
I don't believe Miami will ever be asked. They compete in maybe 12 sports, have serious financial problems in their athletic department, have no fan base, don't have their own stadium, small school, etc.

miami brings nothing. GT had their chance.
aTm, UT, flordia St, v-tech, OU. these are the best options (i know not all of em)

Unless Georgia Tech winds up in a Big Ten that's "looking south", which has more viewers nationwide than the SEC.
Is it really that hard to project out 10 to 20 years with potentials? Things change over time.

agree with the ga tech part at least
miami doesn't fill their stadiums but they do add significant national interest - so disagree on that one
