Michigan shitting the bed once again doesn't make Tucker a great coach.

It’s mostly the dog whistlers that hate Mel Tucker.

I agree, ignore the outcome of years and years of learning and improving.

It’s ok to not want Tucker as the LSU head coach. I don’t want him either.

But the guy is an excellent coach with an excellent resume.

How many coaches have been an NFL head coach, NFL DC multiple times, P5 DC multiple times, P5 head coach twice? I think probably no one.

Wrong. Again. Look AT HIS ACTUAL PERFORMANCE over time. He had a bottom ten NFL defense 6 of 7 years as a DC. He was amongst the the worst DCs in Bears history. He never had a winning season as a HC. He was 2-3 as Jags interim, 5-7

Just out of curiosity, what did those Bears defensive rosters look like? Or it doesn’t matter?

How many interim coaches in NFL history have a winning record? The arguments people make, lol.

If you’re for or against someone you can paint any picture you want.

Look at the full picture of his coaching career and not just 8 games.

Turned around a terrible Colorado team.

So why are they 2-6 this year?

He was there one year and has been gone for two.

Anyone using his time at Colorado as a pro or con is a moron.

I like his intensity. Seems like a no nonsense coach.

It’s interesting. The guy kept getting NFL DC jobs and worked multiple times with saban. Working multiple times with saban counts big for Napier but isn’t mentioned with Tucker.
Napier stans call him an offensive mind but he has barely any OC experience. Tucker has had multiple NFL dc gigs, sec and big ten DC time but regarded as a poor defensive mind on here.

To be clear if we are in that second tier my guy is Aranda but it’s funny how posters will phrase things from coach to coach

How about this? The year before he arrived, the Bears had a top 5 defense. The year after he left, the Bears defense immediately ascended into the top 14 in the league. Did the roster just happen to be horrible while Tucker was there, but magically improve just before and after? (The answer is no.) And of course the Bears stint only accounted for two of his six bottom ten finishes as a DC.

He coached there one year and was 5-7. Are you retarded or just trying to gaslight the board? Also he was 2-5 last year at

How about this? He’s had a top 15 defense every year he’s been a college DC or head coach, except 1 year at Colorado.

According to some idiot’s spreadsheet on the CC board, who tried to paint that as a negative.

I’m not sure who you are arguing against. No LSU fan I’ve seen wants him, some just disagree that he’s not a good coach,

He's doing a phenomenal job, but his resume just isn't long enough. Imagine if we only had 2018 and 2019 of O as a sample size.

Using that analogy, you would have been ok with ogeron in 2020. Did you want him as hc ?
