.... if we didn’t even interview Glenn Schumann before deciding on Daronte Jones. Not saying I would hate the Jones hire but I would hate CEO not checking out all our options. He’s only making 600k currently, is one of the top recruiters in the nation, is already a Co-DC in the SEC and has been mentored by two of the best defensive minds in CFB for the last 10 years.

O said this morning that they reached out to several candidates who weren't wanting to leave their current job. He may have been one of them.

I don't see how he's a safer option than Jones though.

Why did he not interview? Was it his idea or ours? He was talked about on the radio Saturday morning. He was supposed to be interviewing over the weekend and appeared to have the inside track.

Have you ever heard of a top college head coach saying shite like this on the radio?

That is beyond embarrassing. That shite should all be handled in house.

I’d bet a lot he didn’t.

O says “multiple a lot,” but in all honestly, he wants 4 attacking lineman.

Schumann’s defense is truly multiple, like Aranda’s, and was not getting the sack production that O likes.

Yes, Jones is an “Aranda guy” for one season, however his five seasons in the pros, all three stops his DC ran a base 4-3(I believe.)

I just think he says what he thinks, not capable of internal quick filter with discretion.

He talks waaaaay too much. Sometimes it's interesting other times it's not good for the program.

Buzzzzzzzzwords. Buzzzzzzzzwords. Sooooo angry over radio. Buzzzzzzzzwords

Call the MFer up and tell him to stay off the radio.

My guess is you don’t listen to regional sports radio across the country so you have no fricking clue who says what and where. I’d imagine a lot of coaches say the same coach speak shite every week, everywhere.

The amount of blowup over this radio bullshite on this board has got to be top 5 of the dumbest nonsense I’ve read on the Rant in years.

Schumann doesn’t have a defense. That’s Kirby’s defense

What does that mean? He has coached inside the 3-4 his entire career.

He might not be calling plays, but he knows the 3-4.

You sound like a "oh no, the optics" kind of weak-willed manchild.
what a coach said on local radio in late January about coaching hires is meaningless come fall.

It was reported that LSU reached out.

O said this morning that they reached out to several coaches who didn't want to leave their job.

You can put the dots together.

Agreed. These posters/sheep work themselves into a frenzy over a DC hire.

I think Ed might actually realize that next season can't be like last season. And with all players coming back, a healthy QB competition, new additions, better coaching, etc., there's a great chance we will be a lot better.

Just proves what we speculated -- LSU is a shite show where many candidates wanted no part of this dumpster fire to be under Orgeron. Doesn't matter the money you sling around apparently. Only explanation for going to a bottom of the list guy like this.

Better hope this is a boom hire that nobody saw coming for O or he's not going to make it the next few years. LSU's tradition and pride is their defense first and foremost. They better not be setting in a culture where it sucks every year.

A lot of these posters had to eat crow about Ed during and after the 2019 season. It killed them to admit they were wrong about him, but they still secretly disliked him and were waiting for an opportunity to pounce on him the 1st chance they got. Last season gave them that chance. LSU was faced with a ridiculous amount of turnover to the NFL, a new QB who got hurt so we had to go with freshmen, a huge mistake hiring Pelini, so Ed fixed that after the season.

If next season is a disaster, than the O haters might get their happiness back.

You can't blame him, one of the main things the fanbase said they wanted after Les Miles was a transparent coach. A coach that would be more forthcoming was top of the list for a lot of people.

Well, now we have it. A coach that will publicly throw players under the bus and will tell the media exactly what is going on in the program.

We got what we asked for...

I dont thik anyone outside the program knows who was
interviewed. We believe selfcomfirmed sources and work
ourselves up as if its the truth. The bottom line to all this is so many people just dont trust coach O or his decisions
and no matter what he has done(15-0) dont want to.
The reality is if the anti O crowd is right he will be
fired within 2 yrs.If they are wrong and these hires are
great you guys will have to suffer for a long while.
