My people at PSU tell me Franklin isn't going anywhere.

That leaves Aranda, Fickell, & Riley.

I highly doubt Riley jumps from OU (just my opinion)...

that leaves Aranda & Fickell.

People say Fickell won't leave Ohio... but why? The Ohio State job won't be vacated anytime soon. I think he'd jump.

In addition, Baylor fans say Aranda couldn't wait to leave BR. I call BS.

All that said, I see Fickell as top choice, with Aranda as Plan B, and Napier as Plan C.

I’m of the opinion an offensive guy will probably be the hire.

Unless you can get Fickell obviously.

Franklin would be a great hire. Haven’t heard any other minority candidates worthy of consideration. Tate had to know the quickest way out the door is to push hiring a football coach that fails in a couple of years.

Don’t play with my heart. Get out the checkbook and pay a legend to come and be our first minority head coach. Dream on but damn that would be awesome to get him

But but but I thought our fanbase was racist because we didn't want Mel Tucker.

It won't be Aranda. He's not a big enough name. It's gotta be Kiffin.

I will say some of you need to be easier on Tate.

At the same time be fair to most here because they are just going off what is being said by the talking heads that claim to be in the know. Matt Mascona has insinuated on a few occasions that there is a push between Woody and Tate going on.

If this is not the case and It totally is Woody's hire then he needs to reach out to these media types and tell them to quit. Because what they are doing is creating unneeded conflict where there is none.

I am fan of Mike Tomlin, but would he fit in College Football?

I haven’t heard Moscona say that. I have heard him say Tate wants a minority. That’s it. And not just Tate. I’ve heard that reported by a couple of people.

Jordy said today this is Woodwards hire. And I believe both Moscona and Jordy in this honesty.

He also said at some point that Tate wanted Ed fired for cause and didn't want to pay the buyout and Woodward did. This is why is wasn't fired after the Kentucky game and it took longer to get it all together. Not sure if said this on AFR or it was one of his facebook videos but he definitely said it.

I didn’t get the 4 candidates names. But what I said is if LSU hires a minority coach it’s gonna be Franklin. So it’s not Mel.

He's as legit a candidate as most mentioned. I dont think the fanbase would melt if Franklin was hired.

He also went onto say most of the coaches Woodward is looking at have chances of making the playoffs.
So... based on this cryptic info, we get:

1) Woodward has a guy in mind, with 3 fallback options.
2) Franklin is in that group, we don't know if he's fallback or not
3) "most" having a chance at playoffs, sounds like 3 of the 4. 2 would be "half", "all" obviously would be all.

Of some note, "most" does leave the option for a hot coordinator, a guy at a lower level program (like Napier), or a guy having a down year (like Dabo).

Not trying to cause a ruckus, but is Aranda considered "minority", or not? I honestly don't know.

Just for fun, who's still in contention for a playoff berth, and can we eliminate them? For example, I think you can take Saban and Smart off the board. Tucker seems out, as he's not the preferred minority choice. Harbaugh at Michigan, very doubtful.

That kinda leaves Fickell, Franklin, Riley and a wildcard.

If this is true, LSU could be getting ready to go through a long ugly spell of average at best seasons. I have no problem with a minority hire but if they are pre-deciding on what they want their next coach to look like it tells me the priority is not on winning football as much as it is putting out a look.

If I were entering this process I would only look at coaches that have a defined, experienced, and proven coaching system. These are the coaches that have success year over year no matter where they are or who comes and goes. I would absolutely cross out any big school name coaches that are up and down on their success as that is an indication their success depends on other and not themselves.

I remember the other threads you made about info you received. I believe you because of that. One of those threads was out of nowhere and you were correct.

I wish people would quit saying saban. He’s not coming , he’s old, and it makes us look bad to even bring the name up. Riley isn’t coming here, he’s about to be in this conference with a program in a similar recruiting area. It’s not happening.

Franklin
Kelly
Fickell
Aranda
Jimbo maybe
I think it’ll be one of these

Moscona is a moron that doesn’t know anything and yet half our fanbase hangs on his every word.
