This would be a complete embarrassment for the university. If he is hired then Woodward's job should depend on how Tucker does. No 2nd chances.

I think he should interview his friend Bo Pelini, or at least call him for advice again.

He's not losing his job because Mel Tucker is not going to be the next head coach

Not sure about complete embarrassment but it would certainly be very underwhelming and more on par with what a Joe Alleva would do. Which is why I think it won’t be him.

If he is hired I'll give him the benefit of a doubt.

Talent isn't always as obvious and easy to spot as it appears.

If it’s Mel Tucker, it would be because of JBE and his Democrats on the BOS.

While I agree to an extent, look at the athletic program as a whole and where he has it heading. If we hire Mel and he tanks, we fire his arse and throw 10.5, 11 at the best coach in the land. I see a lot of upside with Tucker. Look what where Georgia’s at right now. He’s of the right pedigree and could be a damn good coach very soon, but I don’t think he’ll be our next coach.

Do you really think any other AD wouldn’t fold under Tate. That would be a really dumb reason to fire an AD

Maybe lose his job if his hire is a dud. Sure.

our last hire was 10-25 as a HC and know for ripping off his shirt and slamming monster. Hiring a black guy with limited time as a HC is hardly embarrassing, well maybe to some of you

You are an idiot. Your butt buddy Ed Orgeron was the one that picked Pelini. Stop blaming the AD for Ed being a complete frick up

ADs don’t usually get to frick up 2 football hires.

If Mel Tucker is hired and Woodward is fired you won’t solve your problem for the next AD. Your president is the issue in that situation

Joe Dean did and amazingly was allowed to be involved in Saban search. Fortunately Emmert took the wheel.

He’s 14-12. Orgeron was a complete embarrassment and we have the opportunity to bring in a top tier candidate. LSU shouldn’t have to settle for a coach that is 14-12 in their coaching career.

Tucker would be a disappointing hire to say the least, but if he the choice I'll be behind him 100% until he gives me reason not to be. I'm not going to whinge and wail in sackcloth and ashes.

Well he would prove himself to be fairly worthless, might as well just let the school president pick coaches

I really hope the admin realizes they are on the brink of losing support for the football team, and that they better hire the best damn coaching staff they can and not worry about quotas. You would think that is Woodward’s plan, and why he came back, LSU football with an open checkbook
