Why would steele come back to LSU

I'd like to know why Steele left the first time? Didn't something go down between him and LSU?

I'm pretty sure he has a buy out on his contract, so he'll have some money.
Which when you think about it is better than a job. He can get his arse to Gulf Shores, look out over the Gulf, sip Mai-tais, and give the world the finger.

He was kindly told to seek employment elsewhere because he was mediocre at best during his time at LSU.

The only reason he got the job was because Alleva wouldn’t let Miles get Aranda because he was trying to fire Miles and didn’t want to be tied to huge buyouts. After the next season he realized Miles as coach was not his decision after all and so he let him get Aranda then.

Don’t forget the attempted coup that was 2015 (Steele’s year) and that Les was an inch away from being fired, with Steele holding a contract with the “Les Miles” clause.
