This needed it's own thread as opposed to asking in one of the already 500 threads regarding Herman and UT

The booster culture at UT seems extremely toxic.

Not nearly as bad at LSU

Either school would give him frick you money so it's a wash.

It would have to be a situation like The Late Shift where Dave really wants The Tonight Show but CBS' deal was much better (not talking about money but control over the product)

1. Texas does not have an AD in place
2. LSU is ready to win next year, Texas needs some rebuilding
3. SEC > Big XII
4. Dave Aranda was his roommate in college, still friends today
5. LSU, at this point in time, is a better program than Texas

Only Herman can answer that.

If it were me, I would know both schools are going to pay me well, so you need to look beyond that.

What are the intangibles? For me, seeing how needy and meddling the boosters are at UT would be an absolute deal breaker. I want to do my job, and not be answerable to every Tom, Dick, and Harry who think they should have a seat at the table.

Boosters, treatment of previous and current coaches, the leaking of sauces

Chance to coach in the best conference, vs the best coaches and players.

LSU has way more talent. You get to measure yourself against the best every year and a chance to become a legend by dethroning Saban. Easier to recruit because of the instate infrastructure already established. Not quite as toxic a booster situation at Texas.

Not to mention Texas hasn't even fired their coach yet and has yet to give him an official offer.

All that being said Texas certainly has more than its own share of pros, and he probably does prefer that job if he can get it on his terms. But it's not absurd that someone would view the two as equal or lsu as better

Herman has a cakewalk to the playoffs in the big 12. Y'all are retarded. We are at best his second choice. I can live with that, I just don't want y'all to get your hopes up. Y'all are getting played

Who else is a better choice than LSU?

This should be good.

His two closest allies in college football are in his ear about Baton Rouge - Aranda and Major Applewhite.

Maybe, just maybe it could somehow, possibly be because Texas does not have a job opening?
