Blake baker. That’s why lsu hasn’t made much effort with anyone else, they have him in their back pocket.

You don’t seriously believe that?
The brain trust jerked knees harder in the last two hires.
I ain’t nowhere close to expecting a real search and validation.

Just to note, Rhett Lashlee was an assistant who SMU promoted when Sonny Dickhead Dykes left for TCWho. Worked out for SMU so far. Maybe Baker would work?

They don't have one. Same idiotic amateur hour show we have seen 3 times now.

I don't know, but we need an offensive minded guy. I can watch a team with shitty defense. Later Les Miles years and this year has proven to me that watching LSU play without a functioning offense is damn near unwatchable and boring af. At least when you're in shootouts every week, its entertaining.

Maybe Kevin stefanski.

He could easily get an NFL job though.

If you are correct, and there is no Plan B, then verge would need to be let go immediately. Almost any of us on this board would have an alternate candidate just in case. To have someone in a position of that importance without the sense to do so could not be allowed to remain.

We would be the laughingstock of the college football world, and rightly so, if we end up having to promote either Wilson or Baker because Verge and company didn't have a contingency plan in place.

I'd take him or Tyrann over Frank to be honest.

Blake baker.

If you pair him with an experienced OC you could do far worse for a backup plan.

Kirby had never been a HC before Bama.

Lanning had never been a HC before Oregon.

I’m not convinced the guy with the highest upside this cycle wasn’t just hired by Okie State.

If they had any fricking sense, they should have known, Kiffin was never coming to LSU. LSU got played to set up a bidding war. They just need to move on and deal with a coach that wants the job.

There is no number 2 option. LSU basically backed a Brinks truck up to Lane and said, "Take what you want!"

Then they said, for good measure, "Here's a magic lamp with three wishes, we'll see you in Baton Rouge."
Literally an offer you can't refuse situation.

The flipside to this is you better hope they are right about the choice because, for better or worse, LSU is going to be married to this decision for a long time.

When they fired Bum Kelly, I wanted KD from the start. But the more I think about it, if Lane continues on the trajectory he's established at Ole Miss, you'd be foolish to let him stay at/go to a conference rival.

LSU knows exactly who their next coach will be. Everything else is simply media hype for talking points.
