In this business you don't fire unless you have someone already in the bag.

Well, I have no crystal ball, but I sure hope he needs to wait until after the Michigan to talk with Minter.

Michigan’s defense looked great smothering, containing, and smashing the Bama offense. It was beautiful…

Yep he's to calculated and plans ahead

He knows his options and their answer, no doubt

What 100% blows my mind is how little info gets leaked. LSU was leaking everything all day everyday before anything even happened. That's good management

Honestly I love it

I’ve seen it happen. Even Saban doesn’t always get his guy.

I think he probably does, and might even have Plan B ready in case his first choice doesn’t take the offer.

This is going to sound like I'm sour on BK but how can you possibly say this after House? Not to mention House wasn't even his first choice.

What did you not like about Matt House at the time he was hired? Oh, and who was available that was the better hire?

I agree. He had a plan before cleaning house. Brian Kelly is a smart coach.

I'm gonna go with this. So many things change day to day. His "Guy" could get a head coach gig, life changing issue.
He may have the guy, but he's too smart not to have options.

The more impressive thing about all of this is that nothing has been leaked. Kelly has his DC and staff in place just waiting on the final i's and T's before its announced. But the fact that none of it is being leaked is quite remarkable.

Likely but not certain. IMO the NFL will play a part in these picks for OC and DC. If Sloan gets the nod for OC we will then need to fill a couple more slots.

He started looking at half time on September 30th. Gotta think he had his guy relatively quickly. A delay in announcing likely means his guy is still playing for something in his current role, either college or NFL.

I'm interested to see if they can fight on 2 fronts with both an OC and a D staff in need. I'd love to see two HUGE splash hires.

The Ace in the hole for CBK is stability with his contract and winning. Our program reflects as one on the upswing, plus top $$ for coaches doesn't hurt. LSU provides a fertile recruiting ground for prospective coaches and a springboard for promotion, unlike the last two years of rent a coach under O. I suspect we will all be happy with his choice of DC!

Not saying we get them, but contact has been made prior to House firing.
