When UTx has to hire some guy from N Texas

Will everyone finally admit that school is not a top 5 job in the country? I laugh IRL when I see names like Harbaugh coming from Austin. Chad Morris will probably be the best they can do.

If they want your coach, he gone. It is the best job in the country. Also doesn't hurt it is not in shitville, Alabama.

It will always be a top 5 job in the country regardless of who they hire.

Texas has already made it Saban or bust. Plenty of people will laugh at them when they don't get him.

Agreed. All this "UT is the best job in the country" dogma makes me laugh. It is if you wanna schmooze with bigmoney fatcats and collect a pay check. If it was such a great job, then why 1 title in 40 years?

Bammers say Alabama is a Top 5 job, but they sure as shite didn't hire coaches like one from 1983 to 2007.
Saban fell into their lap. If Rich Rod had said yes, they would still be trying to hire Bear/Bama boys and still failing.

Sure. One title in 40 years makes it a legit top 5 job.

Wasn't there a time when Alabama had 1 title in almost 30 years? UT has the best resources in the country to be successful, all it takes is the right coach.

Well then name the top five. I think ut is top five and they will get a quality coach. Mack Brown came from North Carolina and did ok.
Oh and auburn better not be in top five or your opinion is invalid. They aren't even top in there state.

It has nothing to do with 1 title in 40 years. It has everything to do with the city, the money, the recruiting hotbed, the facilities, and of course the money.

So, by your definition, UGA is a top 5 job?
Posted on 12/13/13 at 8:46 am to AUCE05
By your definition Nebraska and Miami must be top 5 jobs

Who are these people who think prior success is what makes it a top job? If anything, it adds expectations.
Texas, Georgia, etc. have just as big of platforms as Alabama, have more money, have potentially more exposure and certainly more relationships with prominent folks, and they haven't had Bama success. They're still easily top jobs.

The only thing laughable in this thread is Bammers saying it isn't top 5. Money, marketability, recruiting, facilities, livability...all make it top 5. There's a reason Malzahn said it was his 'dream' job.
The people throwing Harbaugh's name out there are losing it I think, but that doesn't mean it isn't top 5.
