Saban at Texas will help the LHN. So maybe they go from 0.0 ratings on games to 0.2. Yay. Do you think there are that many people who give a damn about Texas playing Kansas and watching the Nick Saban show? A few but most don't.

The LHN pays Texas a decent amount of money, that is the advantage of it. The problem though is Texas already has a ton of money so it doesn't move the needle for them.

What matters though is the LHN prevents the BDF from having a conference network. A conference network that is dominated by Texas would be FAR more interesting than the LHN. A conference network can have 2 or 3 games a week on it. It has all the coaches shows. It has "objective" reporting as well. I'm a die hard Ag but I really could only watch so much of someone like Billy Liucci stroking off A&M on TV.

That's the point. A conference network is more appealing than a single school network and it always will be. You just don't have enough content with one school to make people want to watch it outside of a very small group of diehards. Kids don't want to be on a small network no on watches. They want to be on ABC or CBS or ESPN. They want to be seen on Sportscenter. They want EVERYONE to see and hear about them and the team they play for. Even if the LHN is picked up by every carrier in the country people still aren't going to watch it because there just isn't much to see.

As for how it affected A&M leaving the BDF it had to do with 2 things. First, Texas promised they would have no more than 1 game per year on the LHN and then tried to get 2 or 3 (which is what they have) and more importantly they tried to go after putting HS football on the LHN. THEY LIED and gave us the excuse to walk away which we did. It's like saying the Civil War was started because of Fort Sumter. It's technically correct but it leaves out A LOT of background information.
