The LHN is a huge problem and I don't know how people are acting as though it is a positive. No one watches it, I can't imagine a recruit or coach wanting to have it vs a conference network. The only thing it guarantees is 3 of their games, their coaches shows, and a lot of their programming isn't seen by anyone. How is that a good thing?

I totally agree with this. There's a large level of ignorance here about most things. Shocking, i know.

If Texas lands Saban I can guarantee you more people will be watching the LHN.

While I agree with you so e let's face facts. Texas is and will be still a great job. They need to upgrade facilities for sure which I'm sure they will when a new coach comes along. If they make the right hire Lhn will be picked up and that will be a good recruiting tool. Actually ATM was so scared of it they bolted to another conference,

But here is my main point.

quote:

Conference realignment has taken Texas from being in arguably the 2nd best conference to the 5th and that isn't changing.

Winning championships is what makes football teams elite. Not regular conference games and I fully believe with the new four team playoff that Texas will have an easier path to championships then teams in the Sec. So what that the conference is weak. Makes it easier for them to win games and make it to the top 4 year in and year out with the right coach.

Meanwhile ATM will be slugging away with all the best teams in the sec year over year and make the 4 teams maybe but not with as easy a route as Texas would have. ATM has even had a once in a lifetime talent the past few years and hasn't won anything in the sec.

With the playoff system being a weaker conf that is still an aq might be advantageous and give you an easier path to being elite.

I also find it funny that ATM folks continue to dog the big 12 as so weak now because when they were in they couldn't win shite and it was not that much tougher back then.

I also don't think don't think conf realignment is over so the big 12 point may be mute before long. I can see the 16 team super conf kicking off soon when they split the NCAA divisions again.

Eventually, the Pac 12 is going to expand again due to threats of expansion from the Big Ten, and the only place they could possibly go is the Big 12. Big 12 doesn't have long-run viability imo

I wasn't talking about your game and I made no mention of a&m in my reply so I'm not sure what you're getting at. I was talking about Saban going to UT benefiting the LHN.

It's gotta be picked up by more carriers first. And I don't see that happening even if they do get Saban
