What have they done in the last 10 years? I'm giving an opinion. I'm not lashing out anything. He gave his opinion, and I gave mine. We'll see in the future who is correct. Lashing out? Again, it's a damn internet message board which are filled with opinions. That's all it is. It's all in fun on here. Nobody hurt my feelings on a message board. My Lord some of you people on here need to get a life.

You're lashing out, calm down.

Dude, stfu. O has already coached circles around many SEC HC’s. He will beat Mullen In TS next year if he stays, book it.

That’s seriously the benchmark for us now? Orgeron fans love to move that bar lower and lower.

Orgeron’s performance against Alabama was the most scared coaching job of any game I’ve ever seen. When your players show up, your game plan works marginally, and you don’t adjust; you are coaching not to lose. Can’t wait til this crap coach is run off. Enjoy mediocrity folks.

He already makes 4.5 million a year . He would have to leave because he wants out of Starksville . He is already making what he is worth .

I've seen Mullen's name popping up for various SEC vacancies--including Florida and A&M. Is he really getting ready to make a move? I think he's a great coach, and it would be interesting to see what he could do anywhere in the SEC besides Starkvegas, but it seems like he has a good thing going there--building them into a perpetual outside contender despite playing in the SECW.

Maybe he wants to lead a powerhouse team. MsST will never be that with their limitations.

What did LSU do in the 10 years before Saban? Was LSU a dead program? See how stupid that sounds?

As an LSU fan, I really hope Mullen stays at Moo State. If he moved to a better program, he could really do numbers. He will always be somewhat limited in his current job. I like it that way.

Taking the last 4 years, MSU has blown out lsu twice. Once in BR and once in Starkville. In another year (2015), a clock management problem prevented a short FG attempt and a 50 yarder was missed at the final horn. In 2016, lsu hung on for dear life in TS to win. In 2018, MSU is projected to have a strong team. How comfortable as an lsu fan are you?

Sounds like he's the backup backup plan for VOLS if we whiff on Gruden or Frost, OP

I think A&M would be the best fit for him.

Already posted by user TidalSurge but here is Merlin's full quote when asked about VOLS:

LINK

quote:

“I love the one I have,” Mullen told reporters in Starkville when asked if he would be attracted to the job in Knoxville. “I think what you see is what we’ve been able to build Mississippi State into. As I keep saying, I think everybody has an opinion in the world about what I should and shouldn’t do. People that know me and friends that have known me for a long time know I like my own opinion. I’m not really interested in other people’s opinions all that much. I like my own opinion. And my wife, I listen to her.”

A lot of hemming and hawing and never dismissed the idea, imo.

I think mullin would walk to Gainesville if they want him. But he's smart enough to stay put on ut or arky.
A&m is a possibility too.

Didn't he try for the Miami job?

I think Mullen deserves the Florida job. What he has done at Miss State is nothing short of remarkable.

You're like a fool. Is it comforting to know you aren't alone? You don't know what you're talking about concerning Dan Mullen and MSU. You folks are just gonna have to learn how to deal with it from this point forward.

Keep listening to Bruce Feldman, Clay Travis, and other hot takers. Mullen, Gruden, Patterson ain't coming to your dead program.

UT is much more alive than MSU was when Croom was booted.

Well...MSU will be breaking in a new coach in 2018...so there's that.

It won't be in any of the major sports. Even if Mullen wanted to leave MSU, why do you think he would want to go to Tennessee right now? There will be better jobs come along in the next couple of years. There's a better job available now.
